In the 18oos, the students are taught in a 0ne room sch0ols. The sch00l is n0t 0rganised by grade, they are taught by the text b00k they use. The students read the assigned book and recited the information they learned.

The young students had to walk to school every day. These sch00ls would only be in the summer and winter because of harvest.

In the 18oos, elementary school started near morning and ended in the afternoon. The school would teach different things depending on the area where it is taught. In s0me places, teachers have to stay with the students and their family.

High School/ AcademyIn the 1800s after elementary, the

student(mainly boy) would either straight to college, or going to a high school or an academy, most were private(had to be paid for by attending families.).

In 1821, the first public high school was made in Boston. These high schools have several rooms, and are meant for preparing students for college, usually serving white students. African Americans went to separate schools.

CollegeIn college, the students would learn about

their jobs. They would study business, engineering, mineralogy, biology and other sciences, and agriculture. In college, they would spend up to 7 years in college and earn up to a doctorate.

ApprenticeshipsWhen the student was in the apprenticeships,

they would work with the manager and help him/her with his/her work. This was the end of their education process.

Education NowIn 2009-2010, education is much different

now then it was in the 1800’s. Today, some schools teach technology, and computer using. Back then, the students learned about simple subjects. There was only one room for elementary, and horses and stage coaches in stead of cars.

Elementary NowElementary school in 2009-2010 is/was separated

grades, multi-room schools, and had/has bus transportation along with other optional transportation. These schools will teach: physical education, science, social studies, math, language arts, library, music, and art. Most of these classes are usually taught in one room, but some of them are taught in other rooms.

There are some standards set under the No Child Left Behind policy created in 2001, and some standards statewide.

Middle School/ High School (Now)Middle School now is taught in multi-room

middle schools, and uses several different books. They teach physical education, science, social studies, math, language arts, music, art, health (in most states), life skills, and a variety of different classes and sports. There are standardized testing and finals for some schools. For smarter students, Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered. These Schools come mostly public.

College TodayIn college today, there are many ways and

opportunities to get a degree. College degrees are: Associates, Undergrad, Masters, and a professional degree (ex. MD). After that, doctors would complete their residency.
