Academics in AixStudy in France at one of the oldest universities in the region, the University of Aix-Marseille III also boasts one of the finest French-language teaching centers in the country, the Institut d'Etudes Françaises Pour Etudiants Etrangers. Follow the bronze markers that retrace the path of the painter Paul Cézanne, the son of Aix-en-Provence. Vivienne, CEA'son-site director, can teach you about the life of Cézanne and his paintings as you walk in Cézanne's footsteps.

Hike Cézanne's favorite subject, the mountain Mont Sainte Victoire. It's only a bus ride away and it's a perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon with your friends from CEA!

Take a tour of the city and discover the history of Aix'sone hundred fountains.

Savor the fresh produce and the flower markets that line the streets on your stroll to school.

Meet the CEA students in the evening at one of the CEA apartments and let Vivienne teach you how to cook like a real Provençal!

Take the train to a small town on the Mediterranean coast to try fish soup, a local specialty.

Take full advantage of school breaks. Fly to Ajaccio, Corsica and go backpacking around this mysterious and fascinating island of the Mediterranean.

Meet your friends in the centre villeto go see one of the many art or theatrical shows, and then stop by a cozy bistroton the way home to talk all about it.

associated with the sign of water and boasts a tradition of cures and treatments that date back to its foundation. Under the Romans, Titus Livy, Pliny tbe Ancient and Plutarch mention the existence of hot water which coursed from natural springs. • In 1839 one of its most famous children was born, the painter Paul Cézanne. Aix adopted the writer Emile Zola who extracted from his memory of Aix, the scenario of Plassans, cradle of the Rougon-Macquart.

• Lyric Art Festival, Aix offers to worldwide music lovers, a prestigious setting, completely renovated : the baroque palace of its Archbishops.

• French contemporary artist, Victor Vasarely created the foundation in 1976 to encourage the integration of art in architecture.
