Spanish Immersion Program
The Foreign Language Partial Immersion Academy at Christopher Farms Elementary School, is a program designed to offer students a foreign language class in the elementary school. Christopher Farms has developed the Foreign Language Partial Immersion Academy to provide additional educational choices for students to expand their learning and careers. All Virginia Standards of Learning are still covered in the program.
The curriculum is divided into two sections, one taught in English and the other in Spanish. Mathematics, science, and health are taught by the Spanish language immersion teacher to help them learn numbers and words that are not used in every day language. The grade level language arts and social studies are still taught in English. However, both the language immersion teacher and the grade level teacher work together integrate all the curriculum.
