backyard. The Shaw’s recently sold their business of 22 years and are ready to enjoy spending time at the Club.

Ron and Kelley Hendricks. The Hendricks just relocated to Covington, LA from Houston, TX. Kelley is originally from Texas, the Golden Triangle area. She is a P r o c u r e m e n t

Professional, in the Deep-water market space, and is employed by a Major IOC. Ron is originally from The Carolinas. He is a Business Development Professional, in the Flow Control industry. Ron is the golfer in the family, and Kelley prefers to hang out poolside. They also enjoy traveling, as well as spending time with their circle of family & friends. They look forward to developing new relationships in the area, as well as exploring the Beau Chêne Country Club amenities and environs.

Sajeo and Lauren ArguellesAnd their daughter Ava

Sajeo and his wife Lauren married five years ago this month. They share a beautiful one year old daughter, Ava. Sajeo and Lauren both grew up in Slidell, but became

Mandeville residents two years ago as they fell in love with the quiet and quaint “homey” feel of Mandeville. When Sajeo isn’t working on growing his business you can find him on the golf course or spending time with his family. Lauren is enjoying being a stay at home mom to their daughter Ava. (BCCC N0.4823) She loves crafting and spending time outdoors. “Our family loves seeking new adventures, taking long drives, visiting the lakefront, and watching Ava learn and grow!”- The Arguelles

opefully, this newsletter will be received prior to

the weekend and we may have space remaining to take your reservations for either – or all – (1) Lobster Night on Friday, March 30th (2) Breakfast w/the Easter Bunny and age-specific Egg Hunts on Saturday, March 31st (ages toddler through 4 and ages 5 to 10) and (3) Easter Sunday Gala Brunch Buffet on Sunday, April 1st.

Golf is king in April with The Masters during the week of April 5th – 8th; come on out and watch the pros on TV compete with your friends at the Oak Grill. In keeping with another Deep South tradition, a Bourbon Dinner is slated for Saturday, April 14th where Executive Chef David Ramey and his crew will craft a special dinner (see Chef David’s article on page 9) to match up with 4 to 5 premium bourbons. Cost is just $45/person and should be a grand time! Reservations are required.

For those of you who prefer a brewed event, Abita Brewing Co. will be presenting a number of their finest beers on Saturday, April 21st. BCCC’s Culinary Team will be creating a number of “dinner hors d’oeuvres” for you to match up with your beer(s) of choice. The $30/person cost is easy on the wallet for delicious locally crafted beer and dinner. Reservations

please. Note: Sitter Service will be available for both the April 14th Bourbon Dinner and the April 21st Abita Dinner.

Please keep in mind your new line-up of evening events at Beau Chêne CC:• Wednesday evenings continue with our family tradition buffet dinner. Family Bingo will be added on Wednesday, April 18th!

• New evening dinner menus (see Chef David’s article on page 9) are finally in place for both the Oak Grill and Morgan’s. Come on out and discover what’s new and exciting at your Beau Chêne Country Club!

• A la carte dining is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings in both the Oak Grill for a more casual and family-friendly location and in Morgan’s for those who might prefer a more formal and adult like setting for their dining pleasure. Please see Chef David’s article with respect to Saturdays in April in Morgan’s featuring dinners with wine, bourbon, beer and Prime Rib in that order.

• Thursday’s Steak Night has changed to a Thursday Theme Night with a number of affordable and rotating main entrees in the Oak Grill along with the a la carte menu. Watch the calendar for Burger Night, Taco Night, Fried Chicken Night, Italian Night, Shrimp Night, etc.

• Our weekly Sunday Breakfast Buffet

continues to provide a wide array of high quality dining options from freshly made omelets and waffles to grits and grillades.

Sports activities also dot the April calendar with an inaugural member-run, Club-supported Geaux Cup golf event on April 5th thru 7th, as well as the Men’s Golf Association’s second event of the year on Saturday, April 21st – see Fred’s column for details. Second, swim team registration will be held at the pool on Sunday, April 22nd beginning at 3:30pm. Next, but certainly not least (or I risk sleeping on the couch), the weekly Group Fitness Class Schedule has vastly improved with a greater class selection taught by some of the finest instructors (one of whom happens to be my wife) in the area. See Alysha’s article for more details.

Kids’ Summer Camp is quickly approaching and I am delighted to announce that Mrs. Heidi Hages will be serving as this year’s Camp Director. Many BCCC members know Heidi as a local sixth grade teacher, wife and devoted parent of her 11-year-old son. Heidi is promising “a fantastic, amazing and memorable camp experience” for one and all. Sign up now to reserve your spots for any, or all of the seven-week series. Registration forms are available on the Club’s website.

A couple of very popular May events are quickly approaching and must be mentioned now to make sure that you

Greeting to Members

by Donald “Don” E. Beaver, Jr., CCM, CCE

aren’t left out:• Cinco de Mayo, Saturday, May 5th with all your Tex-Mex favorites, margaritas and cervezas!

• Mothers’ Day Sunday Buffet on Sunday, May 13th will surely be a near sellout event.

• BCCC’s Aquatics Facility with its newly re-built family pool re-opens on the weekend of Saturday, May 19th and on a full-time basis as of Saturday, May 26th!

Facility Headlines!• By the time you receive this April issue of the newsletter, the massive family pool project should be nearly complete with its new skimmers, tiling, gunnite surface and coping.

• The highly anticipated Pavilion (located behind Morgan’s) should also be nearing completion. This new open-air facility should be able to accommodate weddings, bar-b-cues, crawfish boils, open-air concerts, birthday parties and so much more.

As should be readily apparent, your Beau Chêne CC is ready to provide you a great member experience!

See you at the Club!

ello April! This is truly one of the

best months for tennis! The weather is perfect, everyone is getting outside and there couldn’t be a better time to enjoy all that Beau Chêne Tennis Center has to offer!

We’re online! With our new online court reservation system, you can now book your court from anywhere! Please feel free to use this new system to book the court yourself or call or stop by the tennis desk and we’ll take care of you.

League season is nearing completion. Our Spring teams are all in the hunt to go to State this June. All of them are in either 1st or 2nd place with about a month left to go. Finish strong everyone!

Regarding our upcoming social mixers and tournaments, we have both some

additions as well as changes we’d like to mention. While we had originally planned to host the MDA “Serving Up Strength” one day charity tournament in April, we felt it would better suit us to wait and plan for it to be a bigger event next year. However, looking ahead to November 8-11, we will be hosting what will be our signature charity event, the Boys Hope/Girls Hope Mixed Doubles Team Tournament. More detailed information to come later this year.

Finally, summer is quickly approaching. We will be offering multiple junior tennis camps throughout the summer, beginning in June. This is a such a fun way for kids to learn and enjoy this great sport! As a reminder, with our air-conditioned indoor courts, it’s never too hot and we’re never rained out!

As always please feel free to call or stop by the tennis desk for more information. We’re happy to help!

Fitness News

P lease join us in welcoming Lorraine Beaver

and Michelle Braiwick to our amazing team of Group Exercise Instructors!

Lorraine’s fitness career began in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she also met her husband, Don - they’ve been married for thirty-four years!

Once she started teaching “hardcore” aerobics, she was hooked and hasn’t stopped since.

Since those early days of the aerobic revolution, Lorraine has expanded her knowledge, growth, and experience into many various forms of exercise.

Alysha Schroeder, Fitness Director

She strives to share her enthusiasm with others and make each class challenging and fun for beginners to advanced! Her goal as an instructor is to make the class so motivating and fun that no one watches the clock! From her high intensity Tabata class, Yoga/Pilates “Fusion”, Stretching, or Kettlebell class - you name it, Lorraine wants to make your class experience unique and challenging! Her motto: You have one body - let’s make it the best it can be!

A native of L o u i s i a n a , Michelle was born and raised on the N o r t h s h o r e . M i c h e l l e graduated from Fonta inebleau

High School, where she was both a cheerleader and on the dance team during her time there. Michelle has been the

membership director at Beau Chêne Country Club for almost two years. When classes were being offered at the fitness center Michelle jumped on the chance to teach barre classes when her schedule allowed. Being a dancer for over 20 years, fitness and dance were naturally a passion and she truly enjoys developing challenging and fun classes for her clients. Michelle was certified to teach barre in 2015 and has been embracing the exercise ever since.

We are looking forward to this month’s line-up, including; Burger Night, Taco Night, Fresco Italiano, Chicken Wings by the Pound and a Shrimp Basket night.

On Saturday Nights in Morgan’s we will now have “Tastings and Carvings” in addition to our a la carte menu. Each week we will set up a special menu for

Dave’s Beau Burger is a must try! Morgan’s Dinner Menu will host a variety of different offerings from week to week. Our goal is to source seasonal fresh products and find new favorites for you to enjoy. Try one of Chef David’s favorite recipes; the Cauliflower Crème Brule…a creamy savory custard topped with arugula and

thin shaved pickled shallots, tossed in white truffle oil.

Cinco De Mayo is just around the Corner! Find our menu in this month’s newsletter and make reservations for you and your family, as this one fills up quickly. In addition to our Fiesta Buffet offerings, get ready for our new Margarita Machine with Virgin and Adult offerings, plenty of Cerveza and chef-inspired Agua Fresca’s for the kids!

Keep in mind Mother’s Day is almost here Sunday, May 13th! Look forward to seeing the menu in May’s newsletter, but don’t let that stop you from reserving early.

Golf Course MaintenanceTed Smith, Director of Agronomy

espite the fact that we a v e r a g e d around 4” of

rain per week last month, we were able to complete a substantial amount of project work. We fully renovated the middle and left greenside bunkers on #9 of the Oak Course, all three greenside bunkers on #8 of the Oak Course, and all three greenside bunkers on #6 of the Oak Course. On all of these bunkers, we slightly modified their shapes in order to reduce maintenance and improve aesthetics. We also installed extensive subsurface drainage and new sand. This month, we will continue our greenside bunker renovations by moving backwards to #5 and #4 of the Oak Course.

From a green’s maintenance perspective, we strive to provide you with consistent, adequate speed and ball roll on a daily basis and we plan to achieve this goal by spraying weekly applications of liquid fertilizer and growth regulator, grooming, rolling, double cutting and lightly topdressing with sand.

We will also fertilize the tees, fairways and approaches with slow release granular fertilizer, foliar fertilizer and growth regulator to create denser turf and better playing surfaces.

Last but not least, I am also excited to announce that you can now access our daily

cart rulings and stimpmeter readings (green speeds) on our new and much improved website (www.beauchenecc.com). When you access the page, click on the drop down menu at the top left and then choose Member Activities. Next, click on the Golf tab and there you will find our current course conditions.

As a friendly reminder, please adhere to daily cart rulings, remember to repair ball marks on greens and fill your divots with sand. This will go a long way in helping us maintain course conditions. If you have any questions, please feel free to send an email to [email protected].

D pring Break is here, which means…no school! So, stop by the childcare to let

your kids stimulate their minds while you enjoy the many activities Beau Chêne Country Club has to offer. Also, I just want to remind you all that we have extended our childcare hours Monday-Thursday from 4:30p.m. to 8:00p.m.

Special Note: Childcare will offer services from 6pm to 9pm for two events at the clubhouse this month: Bourbon Night on Saturday, April 14th and Abita Night on Saturday, April 21st. Please make your reservations accordingly.

If you have not already registered for KE camps, please do so now to save on tuition! We do not want you to miss out on Early Bird Tuition. If you will need before and after care

Childcare News

S for your kiddos, no worries, the childcare will provide care for a small fee. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.

We will be announcing another date night soon, please be looking out for more information in the May newsletter! The childcare is continuing to grow every day and we could not have done it without you!
