IMPLEMENTING
How it works
The first Globaloria pilot in WV began in August 2007
• Funded by the Governor’s office and the Benedum Foundation
• 7 locations statewide spanning the Middle School, High School and Junior College levels
• In School and After School models being tested
• Learning game design, Web 2.0 skills, and a host of 21st Century skills
• Two communities presented initial games in January (RTC, MCTC)
• All communities developing games for Spring presentations
• Two new communities joined in January 2008 (Kasson, Clay HS)
• Verizon also joined as a funder

• Committed Educators/Coordinators• Passion to learn• Passion to teach in new and innovative ways• Basic computer skill. • Commitment to 10+ hours a week• Compensation available
Educators
• Middle, High School, Community College, and University Level• Basic technology knowledge• Time to Learn is VITAL (8+ hours a week recommended for success)
Students
• High Speed Internet connectivity
• Each individual participant must have access to a PC/laptop (no machine sharing)
• Necessary software:• Flash 8.0 or newer• Photo Editing Software
