    PolyScience 6000 Series Recirculating Chillers are designed to handle processtemperatures from -10 to 40C (14 to 104F), making them ideal for manyroutine process cooling needs. To help optimize cooling efficiency for aparticular application, they are available in a wide selection of coolingcapacities, compressor sizes, and pump types.

    All models feature convenient "one-touch" temperature control and bright LED

    readouts which can be easily read, even from across the room and let you checktemperature set point and fluid flow rate and/or pressure with just a quick touch.

    For added operational safety, PolyScience Chillers feature audible and visualalarms that alert you instantly when operating parameters such as fluidtemperature, flow rate, fluid pressure, and ambient temperature exceedpre-set limits. There are even user-adjustable high and low temperature limits tohelp prevent unauthorized set point changes plus built-in safeties.

    Other features include an easy-to-use calibration function that allows you toadjust the Chiller's temperature display to match a traceable temperaturestandard and optional interfaces for various control functions, such as remoteon/off and remote control.

    Correctly sizing your PolyScience Chiller maximizes operating efficiency and economy. The opti-mum size is based on the amount of heat the application is generating plus the power needed tomaintain temperature under varying loads. The following formula is used to calculate heat load:

    Watts =[T x (K)]

    Where:

    T = The difference between the incoming and

    outgoing fluid temperature of the device.

    K = Conversion constant for the density andspecific heat of water.Use 4,186 when calculating load in C;

    use 2,326 when calculating load in F.

    S = The number of seconds needed to fill aone liter container.

    Additional considerations:

    1. For ambient temperatures above 20C, add

    1% to the calculated wattage for each 0.5Cabove 20C.

    2. Add 20% to the calculated wattage if oper-ating with 50 Hz power.

    3. Add 10% to the calculated wattage if operat-ing at high altitude or at line voltages consis-tently below the rated voltage.

    4. Future cooling needs and/or variability ofthe heat output of the existing device.

    Magnetic Drive Centrifugal Pumpsproduce high flow at low pressure, arevery quiet, and require little mainte-nance. The fact that fluid flow can be

    restricted without pump damage makesthis pump suitable for many applications.

    Positive DisplacementPump

    Positive Displacement Pumps producemoderate flow at high pressure and aremost suited to applications wheregreater head pressure is needed, such as

    applications where fluid must bepumped some distance or where in-linepressure is required to activate flowdevices.

    Turbine Pump

    Turbine Pumps are typically used inapplications requiring operation withhigher head pressures (90 psi) and lowto moderate flow rates (1 to 9 gpm).
