Dear Friends and Parishioners of Holy Rosary Parish:

On April 11, 1963, Blessed John XX111 published an encyclical letter addressed not only to the Roman Catholic community, but to all people of good will. The letter as called: Pacem in Terris (Peace on Earth), and it was

written during the fifth year of his pontificate. The letter in it’s entirety was published by the New York Times and studied by people of all faiths because it gave rise to the immense surge of hope in a world divided by fear, hatred and division. I would like to quote from part 1 of his letter: “Beginning our discussion of the fights of people, we see that every person has the right to life, to bodily integrity, and to the means which are suitable

for the proper development of life; these are primarily food, clothing, shelter, rest, medical care and finally the necessary social services. Therefore a human person also has the right to security in cases of sickness, instabil-

ity to work, widowhood, old age, unemployment, or in any other case in which he is deprived of the means of subsistence through no fault of his own”. He was a teacher then and continued to be a prophet now encouraging

us to bring peace to our Lord through just means.I would like to invite all who have never read this letter to do so.

Peace on Earth to All.With Faith and Affection,

Fr. Sam Argenziano (Pastor)
