An estimated 90,000 people from across Sydney are expected to attend this free, family friendly event. The Moon Festival takes place each year at the autumn equinox when the moon is at its fullest and brightest and celebrates the South East Asian belief that the moon provides positive influences over the earth at this time of year. Festival goers can indulge in a number of mouth-watering Asian cuisines, enjoy traditional performances, witness the children's lantern parade led by the Moon Goddess and take part in crowd favourites competitions including noodle eating, prawn peeling and moon cake eating. The fun will begin at 10.30am with Cabramatta's longest lion dance parade through the festival site. Around 25 colourful lion dancers will mesmerise festival goers with their vibrant acrobatic moves and entertain the crowds along the streets as they make their way to the main stage. Headlining acts this year include chart-topping sensation TIMOMATIC, who will electrify crowds with his high energy performance. The artist behind hit singles including Set It Off, Parachute and Waterfalls, TIMOMATIC will not disappoint. A special performance by Australian born, international K-Pop star Prince Mak from boy band JJCC will thrill fans when he performs solo at this year's festival. Fans will have a chance to meet Prince Mak at 5.30pm who is a huge name on the Korean pop scene. Winners of 2016 My Kitchen Rules, Tasia and Gracia, will add a whole lot of spice to the stage as they whip up some of their favourite recipes. There will be plenty of family friendly activities to keep children entertained including amusement rides, hula hoop workshops, ice skating and more. Other highlights also include the chance to meet your Avengers superhero – Iron Man, Captain America, Thor or the Hulk. The Super Dads Challenge will test the skills of children and their dads with a game of tug of war, push up challenge, three legged race and more with great prizes to be won. The festival will finish off with a spectacular fire breathing show before the amazing fireworks finale.
