Building Task Force Committee 4
January 2012 – Initial committee meeting
Board recommendation – August 15, 2012
Executive Summary
Three significant areas needing attention in terms of capital funding came into focus as the study sessions continued through the winter and spring:
Secondary schools in the valley are over-capacity and continued positive growth trends suggest the need for permanent building solutions.
Seismic deficiencies and building condition suggest replacement of two aged school buildings.
Partial building seismic deficiencies in several other buildings would imply upgrades, but it appears that many of these may have to wait, pending future capital funding sources.

Public Meeting / Feedback 6
Ten public meetings were held between January 2013 and March 2013.
The initial bond proposal recommended one new larger high school in the south-end of the valley (Mountain Crest 2,000 (add capacity), Sky View 2,000 (add capacity), South-End High School 2,000
Public feedback suggested the creation of the two new high school model (four smaller high schools, no high school students driving through Logan)
