Goals – Requirements

• Introduction to the numerical methods• Knowledge of the main areas of the numerical

methods• Calculation, approximate calculation

– using computer• Realizations of algorithms – using computer• Usage of software tools for solutions of the

problems (MATLAB)

Teaching methods

• Lectures, books, exercise book, • Practices in PC laboratory – directing by lecturer

– Calculations – using computer– Realizations of algorithms – using a program package– Usage of some supplies of a program package

(MATLAB)– Using websites (for example:

www. library. cornell.edu/nr

www.wikipedia.hu,

www.wikipedia.org

Students’ attitudes toward the computer aided education

• Each student works by oneself

(in PC laboratory –lecturer-help)• Rapid response about the work • The result of the works is visible / „measurable”,

(Usage of less or more help) each student is successful

• The course is rather difficult, but each student gets a real sense of achievement, therefore the students receive/accept the course favourably
