CAE Community Adobe Connect User Guide Hello, and welcome to the CAE Community Adobe Connect! This document will help you understand how to use Adobe Connect during the CAE Community Webinars/Meetings. When you access the link…you will either be directed to the Adobe Connect add-in or to the Adobe Connect Homepage. If you do not have the add-in, please follow the instructions to download. Step 1: Download Instructions

Step 2: Home Page Instructions If you are redirected to the homepage, please login to the Adobe Connect Homepage as a Guest using your First and Last name.

Step 3: Recording Notice Once you enter the room, you will be prompted to the following recording notice. Please read over the notice, and if you agree click “OK.”

Step 4: Lobby Room Once you agree to enter the room, you will be directed to the Lobby Room (only if you enter the seminar room before the scheduled time). On this page, you will have access to the dial-in information, resources, and general information about your webinar/meeting. Rotating slides will also appear in the main content area informing you of CAE Community updates, news, events, and job opportunities for faculty.

Step 5: Audio/Attendee Options You also have the opportunity to mess with your speakers and volume settings at this time.

At this time you will also be able to look at some of the options that will be available to you once you enter the presentation room.

Depending on the speaker’s request, there may also be polls on the lobby page.

Step 5: Presentation Room Once the webinar/meeting is ready to begin, you will be redirected to the presentation room. In this room, you will have access to files, important web links, dial-in information, and the session agenda. You will also notice you have access to see all of the attendees as well as the group chat.

Once you are in the room, you will have the option to connect your microphone. Please connect your audio. Or if you are dialing in to the meeting, please make sure you do so now.

Once you connect your microphone, please mute your microphone until you are ready to speak. If you leave your microphone on and speakers, you will hear an echo. So make sure you remember this step. Also, if you are dialing in to the meeting, make sure you mute your speakers (or else you will also hear the echo). ***Note: If you do not mute your mic, the host has the option to take away your microphone rights. Therefore, please be mindful and mute your microphone to avoid background noise.

Web Links: You can click on the web links to be redirected to the site you are interested in. All links are represented by the name (i.e. Calendar will take you to the CAE Calendar). Most of the links will lead you to the community website. However, we also post links that lead to some of the activities going on in the community. Files: If there are any files the presenters wish to share before, during, or after the meeting, they will appear in the files pod for download. Group Chat: You have the opportunity to engage with members of the community by participating in the group chat.

Step 6: Question Room Depending on the format for speakers, you may be directed to a question room at the end of your meeting or once the meeting ends, you will be redirected to this page. This page allows you to communicate in the group chat,
