Cae’r Fadog Isaf
Life should be a colourful journey, variety being the spice of life – now at Dafydd Hardy, it's fair to say we've seen our share
of property over the years, but once in a while something comes along which really does take you by surprise and changes
your viewpoint on what it means to be truly at one with the countryside and your surroundings – we are confident that Cae'r
Fadog Isaf offers a life affirming move like no other. So if you really want to experience Welsh rural life in all its glory with all
its remarkable facets, you simply cannot beat Cae'r Fadog Isaf – this is rural life at its best, a property that's in a league of its
own.
In terms of accommodation, Cae'r Fadog Isaf comes in two
halves so to speak, the original farmhouse and a converted
barn, and what a treat you can expect too. The property is
quite unique in these parts being entirely self-sufficient –
despite its traditional appearance, Cae’r Fadog Isaf is leading
the way with 21st century Green Sustainable energy.
There's a private water supply, LPG provision, and
sophisticated photo voltaic (solar panel) off-grid system,
which effectively means you have no need of any mains
services at all, and just think of the huge savings you'll make
along the way! Both dwellings have been renovated by the
present owner to a particularly high standard, yet all done in
complete sympathy, enabling the charm and character to
shine through whilst offering a contemporary feel complete
with all the comforts to which we've all become accustomed
to.
The renovation has been extensive to say the least (the list of
work is exhaustive), so you are effectively getting new homes
within the original outer stone walls.
There's a definite cosy feel to both dwellings with wood
burning stoves to keep the chill at bay, complemented by LPG
central heating. There's a definite air of quality too with some
nice touches throughout and an eye for detail that is tangible
- latched doors, flagged stone floors and rustic floorboards
and a majestic inglenook fireplace being just some of the
highlights. Both dwellings come with fully equipped kitchens
too, the farmhouse inevitably having the lion's share of built-
in appliances.
The present owners have operated both dwellings as highly
successful holiday letting accommodation, offering the
purchaser multiple potential income streams. To complete
the picture - two wood fired hot tubs are provided and are
positioned to take full advantage of the incredible views and
have proved extremely popular, especially at night where the
clear skies and tranquility allow for star gazing with a
difference. Therefore, Cae'r Fadog Isaf offers the discerning
purchaser a host of opportunities, with generating additional
income being just one of the options available.
Positioned on the lower slopes of Moel Hebog (superb walking
country on your doorstep), straddled in the most incredible
position on the edge of Cwm Pennant, Cae'r Fadog Isaf enjoys
a spectacular south easterly aspect overlooking the
neighbouring and equally stunning Cwm Ystradllyn valley in
the heart of Snowdonia. You can expect to enjoy unsurpassed
views of the surrounding countryside with its jagged hills as
well as miles of sea, plus the fading, hazy vista of the Cambrian
coastline of Cardigan Bay – there simply is no comparison! This
is most definitely a rare opportunity, one which should be
embraced with open arms.
Getting to Cae'r Fadog Isaf is part of the reward for living on
the edge of what many have described as the most beautiful
valley in Wales. The property stands within some 11 Acres of
gardens and pasture with your only nearest neighbours being
of the woolly variety – sheep that is! The land of course opens
up further opportunities for those with land based skills and
would suit a host of livestock/farming options or even a pony
or two!
Cwm Pennant and its neighbour, Cwm Ystradllyn are two wonderful unspoilt and secluded valleys located in the north-eastern
part of the Snowdonia National Park, once home to extensive slate quarries that were served by narrow gauge railway, having
long since returned to peace and quiet. The spectacular Cwm Pennant is a hidden treasure, surrounded by hills and mountains
with the Nantlle Ridge prominent at the head of the valley and Moel Hebog to the east, this being fine walking and climbing
territory.
The property lies to the south of the valley and benefits from having expansive sea views - the eye is drawn to Cardigan Bay
and the distant hills of southern Snowdonia. The slate track leading to the dwelling is roughly 1 mile from the public road,
offering maximum seclusion. The main A487 lies roughly 3½ scenic miles distant with the nearest amenities being: Porthmadog
8 miles; Pwllheli 15 miles; Caernarfon 18 miles; Chester & M56 motorway 70 miles (Approximate mileage). Not only do you
have the mountains to enjoy but also the stunning coastline and beaches which are much closer than you think. Take in the
fresh air and enjoy the company of the local sheep while gazing up at the buzzards catching the thermals above you. This truly
is the good life and this is your chance to live it!
