What do we do?

We developed smart packaging solution for medicines. Supports one type of drug per box and can be branded or co-branded. It has a LED and a buzzer to alert the user when it’s time to take the medicines inside it, an opening sensor that detects when the box is opened, an accelerometer to detect motion and built-in bluetooth connectivity.

It can also detect proximity, in order to trigger the alarm just when it’s relevant - you can receive a notification if you’re leaving home without the pill box or when you’re back home and close to it.

It’s connected to a smartphone app which serves as the user interface and communicates the user’s actions to the cloud.

Target Customers and Pain Points

● B2B: ○ Pharma Companies: 36% loss in potential sales due to poor medication adherence; ○ Retail Pharmacy Chains: high competition; want to have a differentiating factor and

make their customers loyal so they keep going for refills; ○ Health Insurers: $290B in avoidable costs, per year, due to their customers not taking

their medicines (just in the US).

(Currently working in a partnership with Bayer Healthcare, beginning in early 2015)

● B2C: ○ Young chronic patients (<50 years old): they have an active lifestyle, incompatible with

complicated medication schedules. They want tools that can adapt to their routine, and not add another layer of complexity to it.

○ Polymedicated patients: A better tool to manage their medication intake, to avoid errors and to give peace of mind to family members.
