SBA Board:FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Greetings all,
I hope you are all surviving the rain this week.
More importantly, I hope you are all aware of Stress Relief Week. As finals quickly approach many of us feel more anxious than we did during the early days of the semester. Health Care Law Society and the SBA are hosting the annual Stress Relief Week, formerly known as Wellness Week. There will be representatives from various stress related campus services and stress relief events to help you calm down before finals.
There are plenty of career related activities this week also. LCS is hosting an externship info session and the orientation session for Public Interest / Public Service ("PIPS") Day. Held in February, PIPS day is one of the biggest career fairs in the Bay Area.
Also, Wednesday evening many student orginazitions are bringing judges from the Santa Clara County Superior Court to speak about the benefits of working with a judge. They will discuss the application process and answer any questions you may have. Every year many students find jobs through these events.
Lastly, 1Ls, don't forget this Friday is the deadline to register with the Bar. It only takes a minute and will save you time later.
Enjoy your week,
Carlos Rosario

Shadi Sadr, a wellknown Iranian human rights lawyer, will address the circumstances faced by women and others under the current government.
The Alexander Prize recipient this year is Shadi Sadr, an Iranian lawyer who has risked her life in her efforts to protect the human rights of women activists and journalists. She has been arrested, beaten and imprisoned in Iran. In July 2009 she was arrested once again and then released, which allowed her to escape to Germany. On May 17, 2010, Ms. Sadr was convicted in absentia in a Tehran court of “acting against national security and harming public order” and was sentenced to six years in prison with 74 lashes.
Ms. Sadr has touched the lives of thousands of individuals through the entities she has established and her support of campaigns such as "End Stoning Forever." She founded the website "Women in Iran" and was the director of Raahi, a legal center for women which has since been closed. Ms. Sadr exemplifies the courage and selfsacrifice required of Alexander Prize recipients.
