Some success cases in the Pharmaceutical sector
Baxter is an American multinational with more than 60 years ofpresence in Cali. The Cali plant is the center of operations for thesouthern region of Latin America, from which products areexported to 15 countries across the continent.
Abbott Laboratories is a US company mainly in the pharmaceuticaland nutrition sector. In 2016, the company reinvested nearly USD 7million in a labeling plant and a research and development center.
Sanofi entered the Valle del Cauca in 2013 with two plants, from whichthey export to other South American countries. In 2017, it reinvestednearly USD 3 million in expansion of its plant that now has a capacityof 110 million units per month.
BSN Medical began producing in 2005 in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca. In2017 they made a reinvestment by expanding their plant with a newproduction line. The main destination of its exports is USA.
Some success cases in the Chemicals & Plastics sector
Yara is the leading Norwegian company in the agrochemical industry. In anarea of 90,000 m2 in Yotoco, the company built a terminal for storage,mixing, packaging and distribution, with an investment of close to USD 32million that will generate 120 jobs.
Aptar is a leading company in the dispensing industry. Valle del Cauca waschosen because of the various companies in the pharmaceutical andcosmetic sector that operate here. They settled in Palmira in 2016 with aninvestment of USD 6 million, generating 25 new jobs
Essel opened a new plant in Villarica in 2016 to manufacture laminatedtubes for the cosmetic and beauty industry. The plant, which required aninvestment of USD 5 million, produces 180 million tubes per year andemploys 55 people.
Amcor is an Australian multinational world leader in packagingproduction. One of the reinvestments supported by Invest Pacific was in2016, for a new plastic extrusion line.
Success cases in the Home & Personal Care sector
Unilever reinvested nearly USD 57 million in the construction of a food anddetergent plant in Palmira, from where it supplies the domestic and foreignmarkets. This plant is the most modern of Unilever detergents in the world,generating 100 new jobs.
Reckitt Benckiser has its manufacturing plant of home and personal careproducts in Cali. From there it addresses the internal market as well asVenezuela, Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Chile and Argentina.
Colgate has its personal care products manufacturing plant in Cali, fromwhere it goes to the domestic market and the Andean region. This year thecompany will invest about USD 35 million in a multi-category distributioncenter.
They have been operating in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca since 1962, using theregion's export platform to supply the Andean area, exporting 51% of itsproduction. It is the second largest plant in Latin America after that of Brazil.
In 1966 Cargill entered Colombia with the grain commercializationbusiness. In 2017 it acquired the second most important poultrycompany in Colombia "Pollos Bucanero" and in 2018 it reinvested USD 25million in a WWTP.
The multinational has been in Valle del Cauca for more than 70 years.Products such as: Nescafé, Milo, La Lechera and Buttermilk areproduced in our region and are exported to 10 countries, including theU.S.A., Canada, Peru and Chile, among others.
The Belgian company acquired the shares of the SABMiller company. Atits plant located in Yumbo they produce beers from brands such as:Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois, Club Colombia, Redd's, Águila, amongothers, generating about 165 jobs.
Some success cases in the Food & Beverage sector
It has a production unit, located in the city of Cali, dedicatedspecifically to the manufacture of food products from brands such as:Fruco, Knorr and Rama margarines.
Producer of vegetables and fruit seedlings. In 2017, they set uptheir first nursery outside of Peru, in Trujillo, dedicated to theproduction of table grapes, Hass avocado and citrus fruits. Theinvestment was USD 3 million and employs 25 people.
The largest Peruvian exporter of Hass avocado acquired for USD 1million, a land located in Sevilla where 100 new jobs will begenerated in the production of this fruit.
Producer and marketer of Hass avocado for both the US and otherinternational markets. In Bolivar, together with a local partner,they are developing the first 100 hectares of the project with aninvestment of USD 3 million.
Dutch company dedicated to the cultivation of fresh tropicalflowers. With their new project in Roldanillo, they will generate800 total jobs with an investment of USD 7 million.
Irish multinational with more than 70 years of presence inColombia. They own a nursery of seedlings in Restrepo, Valle, fromwhere they supplies their Yumbo plant. It has 22,000 ha. total sownof eucalyptus and pine.

In 2015, APM acquired for USD 400 million the BuenaventuraContainer Terminal (TCBuen), to a Spanish group through thepurchase of its group in Spain. They employ 400 people.
In 2017 the Philippine ICTSI built the Aguadulce Port inBuenaventura, whose 50% was acquired in 2013 by PSA(Singapore) for an amount of USD 200 million.
En 2017 invirtió en un Centro de Almacenamiento y Distribuciónubicado en Buenaventura (Celpa). Cuenta con 100.000 metroscuadrados en el que se invirtieron USD 1´000.000, generando 15empleos.
En el año 2018 Colgate Palmolive invirtió en Palmira, una cifracercana a USD 35 millones en un Centro de Distribución dondecuentan con cerca de 100 empleados.
Con una inversión de USD 12 millones, LG construyó en 2017 sucentro de distribución en el Palmira, por el fácil acceso al Pacífico ylas principales ciudades. Emplean cerca de 150 personas.

They settled in Cali in 2017 and have operations for a financialcompany based in the United States and a global delivery application.They have a bilingual contact center operation employing about 890people.
They offer integration of solutions and business processmanagement, supporting companies in design, construction andoptimization, focused on the customer experience. Present since 2014in Cali where they have 30 employees.
Company owned by Directv group, that was installed in 2012 andserves from Cali to subscribers in 8 countries of Latam. This companyemploys more than 3,000 people. Reinvested in 2015 a number closeto USD 5 million.
Zonamerica is building in Cali the first exclusive zone for services inColombia. The ZF will have 18 buildings and capacity for 17,000 jobsfor a total investment of USD 33 million.
Some success cases in the IT & Software sector
Colgate Palmolive, established in 2013 its Center of Excellence for WebDevelopment, which supports: Media Design, Web applicationdevelopment, e-commerce, web development, analytics to all sitesworldwide Colgate and its brands.
They established in 2011 in Cali, with an investment of USD 1'500,000and 33 employees. They specialize in the development of solutionsthat serve the business chain of agribusiness companies.
They specialize in the development of products and services ofcomputer security, access control and identity management. Theyhave been present in Cali since 2014, when they invested USD800,000.
They are dedicated to solutions for agribusiness. They establishedin Cali in 2017 a support and software development center with aninvestment of close to USD 200,000, generating more than 20 jobs.
