An Invitation from the President

Dear Colleagues:

Mark June 30–July 4 on your day planner and join us at the 85th Annual Conference of the Canadian Dermatology Association

being held in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The Annual Conference is a seminal event, the key gathering of the year for dermatologists in Canada. This is your opportunity to

meet colleagues and learn in an optimal setting.

The scientific program is based on an analysis of your needs. An expert team is busy putting together a schedule of quality

presentations, discussions and workshops. Whatever your field of interest, you are sure to find something of true value.

Dr. Ian Landells is in charge of overall conference organization, in association with Dr. Richard Langley, Chair of the Scientific

Committee. Under their direction, you are sure to be entranced by both science and the beauty of this truly unique part of

Canada. I would like to extend my appreciation to these eminent colleagues for their involvement and thank the local team of

Drs. Brown-Maher, Clarke, Ohson and Pirzada for their collaboration in making the conference a success.

I invite each of you to submit your presentations and posters. Your participation is important. This is your conference. It belongs

to you.

Newfoundland is a welcoming land and the social program will be worthy of its maritime tradition of hospitality. This is a unique

opportunity, so don’t forget to invite your family!

I hope to see you all in St. John’s.

Yves Poulin, MD, FRCPC

Dear Colleagues:

I am delighted to advise you the planning of the 85th annual conference of Canadian Dermatology Association, being held in

St. John’s, Newfoundland, is well under way. As Chair of the Scientific Program for this meeting, we have made a significant effort

to review your comments from the 2009 meeting and to develop what we hope will be a highly informative, interactive and

interesting meeting that will meet the needs you have identified.

At this point, we are requesting your participation to ensure the success of this meeting. We are encouraging submissions

related to four specific themes:

1. Genetics

2. Therapeutics and diagnostics

3. Skin cancer

4. Dermatology related to other specialties (Rheumatology, GI, ENT/Oral, Ophthalmology)

We are also interested in high quality abstracts for more general presentation themes that are also listed in this Call for Abstracts.

I invite each of you to submit presentations and posters, as your participation is critical for the success of this meeting.

I would also like at this point to thank the organizing committee who have been instrumental in their assistance of coordinating

this meeting.

I would also like to recognize the central organizing role by Caroline Herzberg, Michelle Albagli and Carrie Dick in their

coordinating efforts in organizing the conference.

I look forward to meeting you for what we believe will be an outstanding and interesting meeting in Newfoundland.

Best regards,

Richard Langley, MD, FRCPC

ImportantWe would like to request your support of the Canadian Dermatology Association by booking your accommodations exclusively at the Delta St. John’s Hotel. This hotel was chosen for the numerous benefits it offered the conference and its attendees. Accommodations reserved outside the CDA 2010 Annual Conference contracted conference block may seem less expensive but in reality it jeopardizes the benefits you enjoy as an attendee: no increase to registration fees, costs for the conference, committees, and social activities as well as discounts on many of the items needed for the conference. Equally important is our ability to determine actual needs for future planning. If we don’t fill our block, CDA is exposed to paying monetary penalty fees, which may jeopardize the program in future years.

Your loyalty and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
