ASHLEY GOULD BIOGRAPHY
Ashley was born in Denton, Texas and moved to Manhattan, Kansas when she was 8 years old. When she was in the 3rd grade, Ashley decided she wanted to become an architect. Throughout middle school and high school she enrolled in every AutoCAD, interior design and art class offered. But during her junior year in high school, a very wise architect said to her, “Most architects are not good businessmen and most businessmen are not good architects. You should get a business degree.”
She started attending Kansas State University while still a junior in high school. graduated high school early and moved to Lawrence, Kansas to attend the University of Kansas and pursue a degree in business administration. After a semester of college, Ashley came to visit Las Vegas as a lost 17 year old. A few days into her “internship” at JMA Architecture Studios, her uncle TJ (Thomas Schoeman, AIA) pulled her aside and said, “Ashley, Kansas is a place to be from. There is no opportunity there for you. When you are ready, I will help you. You can move here, fi nish college and start a career.” Two years later, she fi nally took him up on his offer.
Ashley moved to Las Vegas in 2003 and started attending the Community College of Southern Nevada. After graduating from CSN with her Associates Degree in Business Management, she attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and graduated in 2008 with her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, with a Minor in Business Law. Throughout her time in college, Ashley was fully ingrained in the architectural community in Las Vegas, due to her family’s prominence in the community and her love of the profession.
In 2009, Ashley started working full time for JMA Architecture Studios as a Strategic Development Representative and Marketing Coordinator. In 2011, JMA was sold to Michael Baker International, an international Engineering and Architecture Firm, where Ashley worked as a Marketing Specialist until October 2013.
Due to the economic downturn and lack of any promising employment opportunities, in November of 2013, Ashley moved to Austin, Texas where she was hired as the Director of Marketing for GSC Architects. Still having direct ties to the Las Vegas A/E/C community and understanding the economy in Las Vegas was on the rebound, Ashley moved back to Las Vegas in November 2016, exactly 3 years after she left.
Ashley has been working with The Korte Company’s Las Vegas offi ce as a Business Development and Marketing Representative since November 2016, and looks forward to continuing her career in the Las Vegas A/E/C community for a very long time.
