CALL FOR PAPERS Cluster Computing, SPRINGER http://www.springer.com/computer/communicatio n+networks/journal/10586 Special Issue on “Data Intensive Software Tools and Applications” 26th IEEE AINA-2012 CONFERENCE International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Fukuoka, Japan, March 26-29, 2012 http://www.aina-conference.org/2012/ GUEST EDITORS Fatos Xhafa, Technical University of Catalonia, Spain Lonard Barolli, Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan Makoto Takizawa, Seikei University, Japan SCOPE The amount of data generated nowadays grows at a very high rate and has reached to the size of Exabyte, fast approaching to a few Zettabytes in 2012 year. Such large amount of data is posing real challenges to efficient parallel processing of data across networks of computers. Applications from different fields rely on massive data to provide services to users and therefore the efficient and scalable processing are a must for such applications. This special issue seeks high quality research contributions from the field of massive processing and data intensive applications aiming to efficiently manage and process vast amounts of data. Main topics include but are not limited to: Programming models for parallel processing in data intensive applications Architectures and scalable platforms for data intensive applications Cloud computingbased data intensive applications Efficiency, availability, and scalability issues in data intensive applications. Emerging dataintensive applications from data mining, enterprise analytics, business intelligence, autonomic computing, wireless networking, finance, optimization, etc. IMPORTANT DATES Invitation to authors of selected papers: 25th April 2012 Submission of extended papers due to the journal: 25th June 2012 First round review Results: 15th August 2012 Revised papers due for submission: 31st September 2012 Second round review results : 30th October 2012 Final version of accepted papers/sources due to the journal: 15th December 2012
