Mr. Lee's official trip took him to Mexico, the Canal Zone, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands . -1920- Joe A . Brown, 20law, Hartshorne, attorney for the McAlester area Rent Control Office, was named rent control director for the district fol- lowing consolidation of the offices of attorney and director . As a member of the Oklahoma State Board of Affairs, Mrs . George E . Calvert (Maude Reich- man, 20ms) daily handles diverse matters, rang- ing from menus for state instutions to the pres- ent room shortage in state hospitals . The first woman ever to serve on the board, Mrs . Calvert was the subject of a recent feature story in the Daily Oklahoman which described the many and varied events occurring in her office throughout a routine day. She bas been active in Oklahoma City for many years in civic and educational pro- jects . -1921- A group picture appearing in a recent issue of Linotype News, which was taken at a session of the Linotype Operators Short Course held at the University in February, includes Rufus Huckaby, '21, '27, '33, assistant superintendent of the Uni- versity Press, and Brodace Elkins, '43journ, staff member of the Mangum Daily Star. At the time of the short course Mr . Elkins was a senior in the School of Journalism and employee of the Journalism Press . The Linotype News is a trade magazine pubished in Brooklyn, New York. Nadine Runyan, '21ba, '39ma, Norman, has been employed to teach history in the Norman High School . -1922- Mrs . Lillian N . Bellah, '226a, the former Lillian Ncelly, is director of the Shatto Wedding Chapel of the First Congregational Church in Los Ange- les . As wedding director she arranges wedding processions, directs rehearsals, plans decorations, and organizes the wedding party . Mrs . Bellah, a member of Chi Omega sorority, has two chil- dren, Robert, 16, and Hallie, 13 . A precedent of 23 years standing was broken when the musical comedy, Oklahoma!, was se- lected recently as one of the ten best plays of the 1942-43 season, by drama critic Burns Mantle, The new musical success based on Green Grow the Lilacs, by Lynn Riggs, '23, is the first musical ever to be included in Mr . Mantle's exclusive list, which he has compiled annually for the last 23 years . Others among this year's ten best, as named by him, are The Skin of Our Teeth, by Thornton Wider, The Eve of St Mark, by Maxwell Ander-son, andHarriet, the Helen Hayesvehicle. -1924- John F . Believed to be the first library science gradu- ate of the University to be so honored, Miss Golcher plans to return to Costa Rica to assist in setting up a library system in that country . During the 150-day tour, Miss Golcher will visit libraries in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Massa- chusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jer- sey and Washington, D. C . MILLER-SOLIDAY : Miss Audra Delight Miller, Enid, and Harry V . Soliday, '27ed, Camargo, Oklahoma, were married June 24 in Bethany . Mrs . Solitlay, a graduate of Phillips University in Enid, taught school in Enid . The couple are at home in Enid, where Mr. Soliday is a school superintendent . Lloyd Story, '27law, has resigned his position as chief title examiner with the State School Land Department in order to enter private law practice in Oklahoma City. -1928- Lt . Howard J . Bozarth, '28bus, and Mrs . Boz- arth have chosen Elizabeth Parcel] as the name for their baby daughter born June 13 in Oklahoma City . Lieutenant Bozarth was on Naval duty in Washington, D . C . The ballad Howdy, Folks with lyrics by David R. Milsten, '28law, a Tulsa attorney, has been published by The Irving Berlin Music Publishing Company of New York City. Set to music by Bainbridge Crist, prominent composer and teacher, the song is a tribute to the late Will Rogers . The poem, written by Mr . Milsten several years ago, is etched in bronze at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum at Claremore and has been given official recognition by the Oklahoma State Legislature . The score as composed by Mr . Crist is ten pages long . BROWN-RAREY : Miss Gail Brown, Alex- andria, Virginia, and Franz Rarey, '27-'28, for- merly of Enid, were married May 31 in El Centro, Columbia, South America . Mrs . Rarey was em- ployed in Washington, D . C ., before her marriage. Mr . Rarey, who graduated from George Wash- ington University, is field superintendent with the Tropic Oil Company in El Centro . -1929- Betty Kirk, '296a, author of Covering the Mexi- can Front, published recently by the University Press, has returned to Mexico to begin work on another book . Miss Kirk, who gathered the material for her book on Mexican economic and political problems while working as a cor- respondent for several U . S . newspapers, has been away from Mexico since September, 1942 . During the past year she has written numerous magazine articles, the most recent of which appeared in Nation . Mrs . Mary E . Lottinville, mother of Savoie Lot- tinville, '296a, director of the University Press, died June 28 in Tulsa .
