Who can make a referral?
• We accept referrals for any child or young person registered with a Buckinghamshire GP.
• We require parental consent for referrals (unless 16 years or over)- However, we would never turn a young person away, we would aim to speak with the young person and consider safety/ risk too.
• Referrals don’t have to be made by professionals- young people, parents and carers can also make referrals too!
• We take referrals over the telephone with a young person or their parent, via our online form, letter, email or fax currently.

What happens next?
• We clinically screen all referrals on the day and make contact on the day if there is risk.
• We aim to make contact and make a decision within 3 working days.
• If we do not feel there is a role for our service we will explain why in writing and also signpost to a more appropriate service, i.e. Early help Panel, parenting groups or bereavement counselling.
• Our Neuro process is slightly different..
