Camping our hope and
prayer is that many souls
will have live changing
experiences and that the
preaching of the cross
will be heard loud and
clear and that the Holy
Spirit will continue to do
His work in the lives of
those who choose our
humble camp ground as
a place of refuge from
the storms of life and a
place of recreation and
relaxation from a hectic
schedule. Camp Allen
strives to embody the
message of the Cross.
Please pray that the
message continues to
change lives through ex-
periencing the Cross!
As you pass through the
beautiful canopy of
trees along the winding
drive into Camp Allen
you will notice this cross
on the right. It is sym-
bolic of the message that
we want Camp Allen to
represent…”For God so
loved the world that He
sent His only begotten
Son…” John 3:16 The
cross represents love. It
represents hope and joy
and mercy. The cross
represents forgiveness
and grace...The very
message that our world
needs to hear loud and
clear in these trying
times. Camp Allen was
established in 1954 and
its legacy is rich with
lives filled with hope and
grace and turn-around
and revival! God has
called many to preach,
many to missions, many
to lives of service, and
countless thousands into
His Family. As we con-
tinue this exciting adven-
ture known as Christian

New Administrators and Staff
Jonathan and Angie Rice have
been the new Administrators at
Camp Allen for nearly a year
now. They began on April 1,
2015. After completing the first
summer of Camps, retreats, and
family reunions they began reno-
vating the house that they would
be living in. It is now completed
and looks very nice. Jonathan
and Angie have 2 children, a son
that just recently graduated from
college and a daughter that will
be graduating from high school
in May. They also have a grand-
son who keeps them all very
busy. They plan to coordinate
Sr. High Camp once again this
summer and are excited about
what the Lord has in store for the
students who will attend.
December 15, 2016 Camp Allen
hired a new maintenance man.
His name is Johnny Buttry. His
wife Terry has also come on
board with our housekeeping
staff. They have been working
hard to update the new kitchen
and spruce up the cabins and
dining spaces for our retreats
and camps that will join us
throughout the spring and sum-
mer months. We are blessed to
have great people working hard
for Camp Allen!

EXPERIENCE
Joy BY SERVING
April 23, 2016
will be a day to
enjoy some
great food, visit
with some
wonderful people and hang
out at one of the more beau-
tiful places in Southeast Mis-
souri. The annual Fish Fry has
been a regular event for
many years and has served
to help fund many needed
projects for Camp Allen Min-
istries. Your donations will be
fully tax deductable and will
serve to further the work of
the ministry of Camp Allen.
This year we have asked a
number of local singers and
groups to provide some en-
tertainment while we eat.
Come enjoy some great gos-
pel music as well as tasty
food during the 4 pm—8 pm
afternoon/early evening
hours.
As usual the menu will have
fried and baked catfish,
chicken tenders, hushpuppies,
fries, slaw, desserts, drinks
and many, many other items
too numerous to describe.
Help us get the word out!
Plan to come as a Sunday

Last summer we began a new
program called our VIP
project. Campers were
requested to bring in FULL
Coin Cans to camp at the
time of registration and they
were given a silicone wrist
band that signified that they
had special VIP privileges
for the week. Some of these
privileges ranged from going
raise the totals to $12,000-
$15,000.
30% of Coin Can Funds go
directly to debt reduction
and the remaining 70% goes
to fund projects like the new
doors in the dining hall, new
commercial washer and dryer
for our housekeeping staff
and other worthy projects!

concentrate on listening to the
voice of God. I have often
said that a week of camp will
many times have more of an
impact on a young person’s
life than an entire year of
Sunday School and Church.
Now don’t get offended by
that statement...I’m not saying
that I don’t think that Church
and Sunday School are
important (after all I have
been a church pastor for over
20 years) What I am saying
is that Camp, many times, is
the catalyst for an amazing
move of God in a young
person’s life that will need to
be nurtured and protected
by the local church and it’s
church family.
Camp is a place that is near
and dear to my heart.
Whether it is Camp Allen or
Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je in
Colorado, where I began my
early camping experience, or
maybe a place that you went
when you were a kid, where
ever that place is for you—it
is a special place that brings
back many fond memories! It
may be the place that you
asked Jesus to become Lord
and Savior of your life or it
might be the place you met
your spouse.
Camp, to me, more than any-
thing is a place that I can get
away from the “noise” of the
world around me and
Get involved in Camp by
sending kids to camp. Help-
ing to scholarship kids to
camp if your church doesn’t
have any to send, or come
volunteer for a weekend or a
week of camp. I guarantee
that you will never regret a
second of your time spent
with kids at Camp Allen! I
will promise you that praying
with, worshipping with, and
playing with kids at Camp
will be some of the most
rewarding
times you’ll
ever be
involved
with.
