No funds donated to the To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign have been or will be used to defray expenses related to misconduct issues. Message from Cardinal George Like all parishes and schools in our Archdiocese, St. Fabian Catholic Church is a sacred place where parishioners gather to pray, to share, to provide outreach to the sick, lonely and poor, to nurture families with the Catholic faith and to provide a loving, supportive community where people can depend upon each other because all of us depend upon Christ. St. Fabian is a source of great joy for me as your bishop. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to share generously with others. And as individuals, as families, as parishes and as an Archdiocese, sharing the faith should be our first priority. Teaching who Christ is is essential to our Christian vocation and the mission of the Church. To Teach Who Christ Is, the campaign described in this brochure, is designed to strengthen the ways in which we teach our children and adults who Jesus Christ is and how his many gifts transform lives and lead us to heaven. Your support of this important campaign will help meet financial challenges facing our Catholic schools, religious education programs and parishes. Societal shifts, economic uncertainty and inadequate facilities all must be addressed if we are to continue to provide our children and adults as well the highest-quality, Christ-centered formation with which we have been blessed for many generations. I hope that, as a result of this campaign, St. Fabian Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Chicago will be strengthened in our mission to bring the light of Christ to the people of Cook and Lake counties. May Christ, the giver of all good gifts, bless you and those you love with His abundant grace during this special time in the life of your parish and your Archdiocese. Sincerely yours in Christ, Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I. Archbishop of Chicago St. Fabian Catholic Church 8300 South Thomas Avenue Bridgeview, IL 60455

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In his Second Letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul writes: “Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.”

We have much to boast about. Through our Religious Education classes and Polish School, our R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and our parish organizations, we have served the people of Bridgeview and the surrounding communities and the larger family of God, bringing the knowledge, hope and love of Jesus Christ to others.

Over the next few months, through the To Teach Who Christ Is campaign, we will be given the opportunity to show our gratitude to God and to give the gift of faith to future generations. Through your generosity in this campaign, we will be able to continue the good work we have begun, reaching out to the larger Archdiocese of Chicago, enabling others, especially the young people, to learn of Jesus and to become his good and faithful servants. We will also raise funds for our parish to repair our twenty-five and fifty year old buildings, which have much need of repair.

Please pray for the success of this campaign. We have much to be thankful for the ways in which God has blessed our parish. We are even more excited about the great things God plans to do in the years to come.

Thank you for helping to make a difference in the life of our parish and in the success of this campaign.

Yours in Christ,

Peter Cyscon

We are blessed with a vibrant parish that welcomes everyone! It has been the home of the major spiritual and communal events of our lives. In our sacramental celebrations, we mark together the most important moments of our lives. Our celebrations of the Eucharist draw us together as one people, nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ.

We are now set to embark on a campaign to secure the future of our parish and its ministries. 60% of the funds raised in our parish will stay with our parish, helping us to support our faith community and its ministries. We have decided to focus on the following parish needs:

• Replace heating and air conditioning units serving the Church and Kash Hall

• Replace Kash Hall flat roof and tuckpoint parapet walls

• Refinish Church/School parking lot

• Replace Church organ

• Retire Parish debt
