We stand on the shoulders of some tremendous work done through the campaigns of recent past. All the hours and gifts of those campaigns have empowered us to build the community we have today. Thanks to that hard work, we stand on the brink of a breakthrough that will lead to a better future. I ask you to prayerfully make a gift from your heart that will be blessed with your sacrifice. I ask this believing that our collective gifts will provide a strong and vibrant future for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Please know that our great staff, committees and I are all dedicated to keeping you well-informed about this initiative. We want this to be an open and engaging process that brings all together to achieve so much. Thank you for your support and participation! In Jesus’ love, Mary’s Presence, The Angels guidance… Rev. Dave Voors, Pastor M y Brothers and Sisters in Christ: As we move past 30 years as a parish family at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we want to be debt free, with our worship space in good repair and provide an enhanced worship experience to all we welcome here. We also want to be on sound fiscal ground for the current and future needs of our church, educational space and parish campus. To that end, I am happy to announce the start of our One Family Rooted in Christ Capital Campaign. In what seems like the blink of an eye, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and School grew from families celebrating the Eucharist at “Church Haverhill” to a vibrant and thriving parish campus. We stand in awe and thanks of all that has been accomplished. We now find ourselves facing some additional financial challenges. Our Parish financial debt of 1.8 million needs to be erased to provide us some additional flexibility. The realities of a nearly 30-year-old church building are setting in. A good rain reminds us how badly we need to fix our roof. Our HVAC system has been continuously repaired. As you sit through Mass, it can be an uncomfortable environment due to this outdated system. Building resources for the future needs of our parish campus will give us peace of mind. We look forward to the opportunity to enhance our worship space to make it a more prayerful and spiritual home. My Brothers and Sisters in Christ: As we move past 30 years as a parish family at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we want to be debt free, with our

worship space in good repair and provide an enhanced worship experience to all we welcome here.

RETIRE OUR OBLIGATION TO THE DIOCESE | Estimated Cost: $1.8 millionDue to the circumstances surrounding our phenomenal growth and establishing our new parish in a booming area, we accumulated debt along the way. As good stewards, we have a duty to retire that $1.8 million debt as soon as possible. Doing so will eliminate the $22,000 monthly payment. Vital dollars will then be made available to secure the financial present and future of our faith community and give us more resources to dedicate to our ministries, programs, and events.

MAKE MUCH-NEEDED REPAIRS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS | Estimated Cost: $550,000Many repairs and replacements have been deferred as we have worked to improve our educational resources. Those repairs now demand our attention. The roof on our church is about 30 years old and in need of significant repair. Our HVAC system is over 25 years old, inefficient and inadequate for our current facilities. Winter has taken its toll on some other outside items. Our sidewalks are as old as the building and are dangerous to our disabled parishioners. Aging and crumbling gutters are causing damage to the exterior, the fascia needs some work, and we could like to complete our cost-saving LED light conversion.

ENHANCE OUR WORSHIP SPACE AND GATHER RESOURCES FOR THE FUTURE | Estimated Cost: $850,000The capital campaign provides the opportunity to enhance our worship space now and to gather resources for future repairs on our parish campus. Our goal will be to bring about a more prayerful and spiritual worship atmosphere.

OUR HISTORYIn the 1960s and 1970s, Fort Wayne expanded out to the farming country of Aboite Township. In the late 1970s, the people of Aboite Township expressed their desire for a Catholic Church of their own. It wasn’t until 1988 that continued growth led to the establishment of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

On Jan. 1, 1988, Bishop John M. D’Arcy appointed Msgr. Robert C. Schulte as the founding pastor. Two days later, on the Feast of the Epiphany, the first Mass as a new parish was celebrated at Haverhill School with 375 families in attendance.

Thanks to the generous donations of our community, we celebrated Mass in our new church just two years later, in the fall of 1990. Tremendous growth necessitated further expansion, the remodeling of our worship space and the addition of classroom space for religious education.

By 1997, St. Elizabeth’s growing community sent so many students to St. Joseph School that the administrations proposed a joint school. St. Elizabeth’s religious education classrooms housed kindergarten, first and second grade, while the older students remained at St. Joseph.

We are finally in a place to focus on the future

of our parish.

As Fr. Jim Shafer replaced Msgr. Robert C. Schulte, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church topped 7,000 parishioners with more than 840 students enrolled in religious education. With such a bustling community, meeting space was at a premium. Our parish embarked on a major fundraising and expansion effort, adding 55,000 square feet of space.

Even as we expanded our campus, our community and Aboite Township continued to grow. We planned to enhance and repair our worship space, but families with young children and changing demographics led to a campaign to expand the school to kindergarten through eighth grade. With a challenging timeline, our faith family responded with overwhelming generosity and our expansion was finished by the start of the 2014-15 school year. Our children now have a world-class space to learn and grow in their faith.

We are finally in a place to focus on the future of our parish. Eliminating our debt will put us on better financial footing. Repairing our church roof and replacing the HVAC system will provide a better worship experience. We also want to build a deferred maintenance fund and enhance our worship space.

“We have watched St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

Catholic Church grow to a very faith-filled

community; we know the best

is yet to come.

DAVE & JANET CHRZAN

“Everything we do for God and His Church

comes from our gratitude to God for what He continues to bless us with.”

ANITA & DAVID SENESAC

By eliminating the debt, the parish is freed up to focus on more outreach missions, whether those are within our walls or outside our walls.”

CHRIS & KRISTIN SPOLTMAN

VICTORY GOAL: $1.8 millionAt this level, we can retire our debt.

CELEBRATION GOAL: $2.6 millionAt this level, we can retire our debt and repair our church.

MILESTONE GOAL: $3.2 millionAt this level, we can retire our debt, repair our church,

build resources for the future and enhance our worship space.

Your commitments to the One Family Rooted in Christ will empower us to take care of important needs that have been identified

and prioritized over the last year. They will ensure that our church can retire our debt, complete the

facilities improvements, create a deferred maintenance fund and enhance

our worship space.
