Need for ChangeNeed for Change

• A partnership between the City of Champaign, Business Owners, the University of Illinois and the City of Urbana was forged to transform Green Street in 2001

• Campus Area Transportation Study recommended transportation enhancement throughout Campustown including Green Street

• Goal was to redefine Campustown into a viable commercial area for students and a gateway to the University of Illinois’ Flagship Campus.
