Canada

On this slide, you will display demographic information of your country. This can include: population, population density and distribution, languages, religions and other information. Include an image, such as a map or a picture that represents the information.

Demographic Information

Here, tell us what form of government your country has and who it’s leaders are. Is it a democracy? If so, is it a parliamentary system, or a presidential system. Does it have a federal system, or is it a unitary government? Is it a multi-party or two-party system? This is Canada’s Governor-General David Johnston. He functions as the head of state, representing the queen and performing ceremonial duties.

Form of Government & Leaders

On this slide, highlight one important moment in history that happened in your country. There are many seminal events in the history of these countries, but feel free to choose something that is less well-known. It should be significant, however, and not trivial. Be sure to include an image here as well. This is a painting of the burning of the Canadian Parliament building in 1849.

Historical Moment

On this slide, explain the state of your country’s economy. This would be a good place to use a graph, rather than a picture or map.

Economic Information

Highlight two or three foods or dishes that your country is famous for. You could include the food’s history or a recipe or two. Here we have poutine and a Montreal smoked meat sandwich.

Food

Here, highlight the major cities in your country. What are they known for and what is their population? This is Toronto, Canada’s most populated city.

Major Cities

What cultural contributions has your country made? A great author or painter, or artistic movement, perhaps? Be creative here. This is Canadian-born Lorne Michaels, creator and producer of Saturday Night Live. This is a still from the May, 1976 SNL episode during which he offered the Beatles $3,000 to reunite, live on his show.

Contributions to the Arts

Use this last slide to present another aspect of your country that hasn’t been presented in the previous slides. You could talk about sports, fashion, or anything, really. Here’s a picture from a CFL game between the Toronto Argonauts and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Wild Card

List all websites you used to create this PowerPoint, including sites from which you imported images. Remember, Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.
