Ayurved Hospital & Research Centre undertaken by Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust had
organised a camp on “Cancer awareness programme “ in the memory of “Padmabhushan Pandit
Shreeramji Sharma” on 16th January 2010 (Punyatithi) at Prof. Surendra Gavaskar Hall , Dadar (East),
Mumbai.
Free Ayurvedic Consultation Camp for Cancer, Interaction with Cancer patients and Exhibition on
‘Cancer & Ayurved’ were arranged in this awareness programme, .
The chief guest of this memorial function was Dr. Swami - Ex-C. C. I. M member. Dr. Tyagi, member of
C.C.I.M also graced this function.
Respected Dr. Chandaji Sharma, daughter of 'Padmabhushan Pandit Shreeramji Sharma' solemnly
graced the inaugural session.
The memorial function began with welcome speech by Dr. Vasanti Godse. This was followed by
Dhanvantari stavan rendered by medical student Miss. Sangam Narvekar & floral tribute to Lord
Dhanvantari, Padmabhushan Pandit Shreeramji Sharma and Revered Parampoojya Prabhakar
Sardeshmukh Maharaj.
In introductory speech, Dr. Vasanti Godse paid tribute to 'Padmabhushan Pandit Shreeramji Sharma'
& explained the background of 'Cancer Research Project' started by 'Parampoojya Prabhakar
Sardeshmukh Maharaj', the founder of 'Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust'.
Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh, Director of 'Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust', in his inaugural speech
rekindled the memories of 'Padmabhushan Pandit Shreeramji Sharma'& expressed gratitude for his
blessings & guidance.
Dr. Rujuta Kushalkar , one of the patient in Cancer research project shared her experience about
Ayurvedic treatment & Panchakarma therapy.
Respected Dr. Swami & Respected Dr. Tyagi reviewed the Cancer Exhibition & interacted with cancer
patients. They both appreciated the efforts of ‘Cancer Research Project’.

...Cancer Awareness Programme in the Memory of
“Padmabhushan Pandit Shreeramji Sharma”On this occasion, well wishers of the trust, medical & non-medical staff of Cancer Research Project &
Atharva Ayurved Pharmaceuticals were felicitated. Mrs. Rekha Kulkarni was felicitated as representative
of all cancer patients.
Ayurvedic consultation was given under the guidance of Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh - Director, Ayurved
Hospital & Research Centre. About 62 patients were examined in this camp. All visitors were benefited
by the exhibition on ‘Cancer - Ayurved’. During this camp, cancer patients who were benefited by
Ayurvedic treatment given by Dr. Sardeshmukh interacted with new patients and shared their
experiences with them.
Audio-visual information regarding proposed “Integrated Cancer Treatment & Research Centre” was
demonstrated. Cancer patients will be treated with Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Surgery along with
Ayurvedic treatment at affordable charges under one roof in this centre,.
Books published by the trust & medicines of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust’s Atharva Ayurved
Pharmaceuticals were also available on this day.

Bhide , Mr. Jagannath Shirsekar, Mr. Raoshaeb Ingle & Mr. Yogesh Ingle rendered valuable help under
the guidance of Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh, Incharge, Ayurved Hospital & Research Centre's Cancer
Research Project. Dr. Ninad Bhopi, Mr. Tanmay Bandekar also volunteered their help.

Reorientation Training Programme in GeriatricsROTP in Geriatrics was conducted by Government Ayurved College, Tripunithura between 4th to 9th January
2010, sponsored by Department of AYUSH, Government of India. Vd. Anjali Deshpande-Lecturer – Kayachikitsa
Department – Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust’s Ayurved College, Wagholi attended the programme. Well-
known Ayurvedic Physician Dr. C. K. Ramachandran inaugurated the programme. Principal Dr. N. Remanibai and
Dr. K. Murali, HOD Kayachikitsa, Government Ayurved College, Tripunithura also graced the occasion.
Dr. C. K. Ramachandran in his address, emphasized on the importance of attention towards Geriatrics in
today’s era & the treatment modalities practiced in Kerala for same. The programme included following sessions.
1. Dr. Priya Vijaykumar - Age with grace -focusing on medico legal aspects, comprehensive look towards the
geriatric science
2. Dr. Ajayaghosh - Physiology of aging
3. Dr. N. K. Ekbal - Urinary disorders in elderly.
4. Dr. M. R.Vasudevan - Rasayan Chikitsa in Geriatrics
5. Dr. A. S. Prasanth - Cardio Vascular problems in old age.
All the lectures were very informative. All speakers stressed the importance of Rasayan chikitsa and its early
use (possibly from the age of 40 years). This can prolong the aging process.
Dr. N. Remanibai presided the concluding session.
