Michael Nwogbo joined Piedmont Columbus Regional in 2006. Over the years he has intentionally held several job positions. In 2015 however, he accepted the position of Oncology Outreach Coordinator – a position he accepted whole heartedly due to his interest in community health. His responsibilities include; providing cancer

screening opportunities for Muscogee County and the surrounding area, providing cancer awareness and cancer prevention education. He also administrates the John B. Amos Cancer Center Patient Assistance Program amongst other assigned and volunteered duties. His favorite saying is that “SCREENING SAVES LIVES.”

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science from Columbus State University, and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from South University in Savannah.

Michael is a self-acclaimed fashionista who spends a lot of his spare time on the sewing machine trying to design the next trend in fashion. He also enjoys spending all of his time with his best friend and wife, Stacy, and also being a father to his son Dozie.

Born in the east side of Nigeria West Africa, Michael fondly refers to himself as a “Biafran Chief” a title he claims was bestowed upon him for being the first male child of his late father (Chief Michael Chigbo Nwogbo) in accordance with their traditions. However, he has lived most of his adult life in Columbus, which makes him a full-fledged southerner with a funny accent.

Mary Williams started her career in the United States Army Reserve as a Medical Technician and an expert marksman who shot 39/40 targets. Her career in the military ended in 1985 after 6 years. and counting with the organization, Mary has had the opportunity to work in several departments. She was a Chemistry Technician after working in phlebotomy. Mary also went on to become a Certified Histology Technician, worker’s compensation clerk, Office Manager at South Columbus Family Practice, Case Manager with the SOURCE Program, Nurse Assistant, Staff Nurse at 6 Main Med/Surg Neuroscience department, Certified Clinical Research Coordinator at the John B. Amos Cancer Center, and lastly Breast Health Navigator.

Mary believes that her diverse work history has helped improve her skills on how she interacts with her patients today. Her latest pride and joy is earning her BSN. She also expressed that “The first position in the USAR to nursing has been like building blocks that have shaped me into a well balance nurse who has lab experience, histology, insurance, precertification and community resources. I have been employed for the last 38 years and I still look forward to my future with Piedmont Healthcare.”

Angela Dumbuya, NP, is a hospitalist nurse practitioner with the John B. Amos Cancer Center and Piedmont Columbus Regional with over 20 years of professional experience.
