AREVA NP MISSIONS

The AREVA NP Business Unit, a supplier of equipment for nuclear reactors, produces the key components of the nuclear boiler for electricians around the world. Located in Burgundy, 40 km from the Chalon / Saint-Marcel assembly site, the Creusot Forge factory manufactures large forged and moulded parts for the nuclear power and petrochemical markets.

Their product portfolio consists of foamed and moulded parts for the manufacture and assembly of key components of the nuclear industry: reactor and internal tank curves, steam generators, primary motor pump groups, pressurisers and primary piping.

Creusot Forge is part of AREVA NP’s industrial presence in France, and is dedicated to the design and manufacture of the heavy components used in the oil & gas and nuclear markets. They are one of the very few forges in the world capable of making the sophisticated parts necessary for the manufacture of the primary components for the nuclear island.

In its workshops large carbon or stainless steel forgings, as well as castings, are realised. These components are then assembled in the plants of Chalon / St-Marcel or JSPM to form the key components of nuclear reactors.

The product portfolio of Creusot Forge includes forgings constituting the following components:

• Steam generator (SG) (upper, conical, and lower heads, elliptical dome, tube sheet).

• Reactor pressure vessels (monobloc closure head, nozzle, stainless steel heavy reflector)

• Pressurizer (heads)

• Primary pumps (pump casting)

• Primary piping (hot and cold legs) connecting the reactor and the steam generators.

The site also manufactures parts for the other sectors: nuclear transportation, wind energy, petrochemicals, steel industry and navy.

THE ROLE

Role: Technical Sales Application Engineer | Reports to: Director of Sales & Projects

Location: Le Creusot, Burgundy, France

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to negotiate sales contracts across North America, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain in order to design the most appropriate solution for the customer’s needs.

• 220 employees• 64,000 m² of workshops• 2 presses (11,300 and 9,000 metric tons) with a 200 metric ton manipulator• Forging solid or hollow ingots from 75 to 260 metric tons• Machining parts up to 10 meters in diameter and 350 metric tons• 3,000 parts produced since 1965

Key Responsibilities

• Creation of proposals for negotiation of sales contracts.• Analyse customer’s needs in order to design the most appropriate technical solutions in close collaboration

with the technical services.• Carry out the various stages of negotiation.• Supervise the initial stages of project execution and following its development until completion.• Analysis, monitoring and coordination within the respective area of responsibilities: coordination at global

level of prices and technologies in its market segment.

Main Duties

• Identification and selection of sales opportunities in targeted markets.• Understanding of customer needs and proposal of technical solutions. • Preparation of quotations and negotiation of sales contracts by ensuring a maximised margin.• Project management and customer interface in the implementation phase.• Responsible for the prospecting and development of customer portfolio / area of application / region, market

research and promotion of ACF products.• Ensure optimisation of global margins of the field of application by assisting other colleagues responsible for

other regional parameters.• Responsible for technical analysis of custumer-specific problems.• Develop the proposal and the feasibility study of a project taking into account the customer's "QCD"

specifications. • Responsible for the negotiation leading to the presentation of a quote.• Responsible for order taking leading to the conclusion of contract.• Driving projects with the support of the methods / project engineer, ensuring the customer interface in the

realisation phase.• Responsible for technical assistance and follow-up.• Optimisation of technical-commercial processes to increase margins.• Required to carry-out all particular responsibilities within ACF, at the manager’s request.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Level of education & experience

• MSc or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.• 5–10 years of industry experience.

Knowledge

• Commercial rules and procedures.• Pricing policy / quotation.• Interest in industrial products technology.• Listening skills / negotiation skills.• Sense of business, organisation and dialogue.• Availability, autonomy and tenacity.
