Marijuana is a natural herb that has plenty of uses; historically, cannabis use was recorded by many cultures around the world. Before it was made a recreational drug, cannabis has been used/smoked as far back as early civilization shows. Also it has been proven to be effective in glaucoma, nausea, vomiting, rheumatism and many more. Based on study, marijuana contains 60 active ingredients also known as cannabinoids that we can therapeutically use by our body safely.

The health benefits of marijuana has been written down on history but its other uses or purpose has been long forgotten, many believe that its only purpose has been on medical side but it’s not true hemp plant also been use for industrial, food consumption building materials and textiles.

Some of the industrial by-products of cannabis plant are fuel, oil plants, varnishes, putty, brake and clutch, lining and etc. Hemp seed is a very good source of protein; it can also be used to make gluten free, vegan milk, also include food margarine, salad oil and granola. The oil marijuana seed produce is used for soap, paints, varnishes and cosmetics.  With regards to textile industry cannabis plant also plays a major role, the fiber from the stalks of hemp plant are use to make twine, ropes, diaper, carpet, clothing, denim, shoes and fabrics. It’s been also viewed as an alternative source of cotton because hemp is environmentally friendly.

the hurds this is the woody core parts of the plants. This can be used for animal beddings, soil amendments and for the absorption of the oil. The hemp hurd is also a good source of raw materials in making of plastics which is more environmentally attractive compared to petroleum. It can also be used as biomass on fuel production.

For some, they regard marijuana as a perfect plant because of its many benefits and uses. But for others, it should be banned for its addictive properties. The question is: Why do we keep a natural plant that grows from the earth illegal, when its benefits far outweigh its risks?
