Cantate (cahn-tah-teh) Cantate is an all-year, after-school choir open to all 1st through 3rd grade boys and girls. As a performance group, this choir is an opportunity to develop students’ faith, singing voices, music literacy and appreciation. We have special opportunities coming this year! Please read carefully through this handbook. The Cantate Commitment

● Students must turn in both forms included in this handbook to register for choir. Forms are due on Friday, August 31st.

● Choir rehearses on Wednesdays after school beginning September 19, from 3:25-4:30 p.m. in Room 403 (instrumental room) in the South Building.

● ATTENDANCE AT ALL REHEARSALS IS ESSENTIAL. PARTICIPATION IN ALL PERFORMANCES IS EXPECTED.

● Listening is key! When there is a CD with the songs we are learning, please listen to it daily.

Just for Parents

● Parents, please join us at 4:00 p.m. that first day for a brief informational meeting. ● Parent pick-up is at 4:30 p.m. at door S-2 on the south side of CHA. ● At 4:40, any students waiting for rides will go to After Care and should be picked up

there, using door N-1, by the preschool playground. ● Accompanist Needed! Thank you for your commitment to Christ, to your child, and to

CHA. Would you consider helping out the choir by assisting as the accompanist? ● Parent Volunteers: Would you consider how you might help our choir? Please

complete the parent volunteer section on the commitment form based on your interests and skills.

● Parents, please provide a NUT-FREE after-school snack for your own child. *If you would like to supply small bottles of water or fruit juices for the whole group, please indicate that on the commitment form.

● The cost for Cantate is prorated through your school account. If this is a hardship, please talk with Mrs. Ahn or Mrs. Swanson.
