Newsletter Term 2 Week 6 Dear Parents and Carers, Combined Athletics Carnival The Combined Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday, 25th June. A new permission is attached to this newsletter. PSSA Soccer Thursday, 6th June, The school’s PSSA soccer team will be travelling to Gloucester. Students will be departing for Gloucester at 8:50am. K/1 and 2/3 Transport Excursion On Tuesday, 18th June K/1 and 2/3 will be undertaking their Transport Excursion as a part of their studies about different types of transport. They will be travelling on a bus, train and ferry and visiting Fighter World to explore aircraft. This will be a very exciting day. Ms Parsonage and Mrs McLeod will forward further details soon. Canberra Excursion Years 5 and 6 will be travelling to Canberra in Term 4 as a part of their studies around Australian Government. While there has not been a final cost advised by the company coordinating our travel an estimate of $300 was quoted. The excursion is for 3 days and 2 nights and is inclusive of most meals. More details will be forwarded as they become available. Parents wishing to make payments towards this excursion can do so to help ease the sting of a big bill. Please complete the expression of interest form attached to help determine numbers and final costing. Opera House Video Conference On Friday 7th June students in 2/3 and 4/5/6 will be taking part in a video conference with the Opera House. This is to support class work in music. Staff Leave From Wednesday 12th June until the end of the term Mrs Gorton is taking some Long Service Leave to enjoy some overseas travel. We all wish her a safe and enjoyable trip. Mrs McLeod will be taking the class in Mrs Gorton’s absence. Anthony Pearson Principal

Dear Parents, This year, Stroud Road Public School are organising the combined athletics carnival and we are planning to run a similar program to 2012. However in or-der for this to be successful, we will require assistance from parents and care-givers from each school. We are asking for volunteers to assist with the running of the activities on the day and it is vital that you are able to stay with this activity for the duration of the activity. If we have more volunteers than required, then we will be able to change the volunteers around to allow for a break. If you are willing to assist with the running of an activity, could you please com-plete the form below and return it to school by Friday 7th June 2013.
