2 Introduction

Consulmet was first established in 1993 and focused its primary business activities on the provision of metallurgical test work services to the mining and mineral processing industries. These services soon expanded to incorporate project engineering and management services to capital equipment suppliers of metallurgical processing equipment. Several successful test work projects were completed in the Zambian copper belt and South African mines together with project management services locally and internationally until 1996.

During the period 1996 to 2000 Consulmet consolidated its service provision activities and focused on trading in consumer commodities expanding this aspect to achieve business stability. With a series of strategic alliances formed, Consulmet is now in a position to offer a full and diversified range of products and services with access to engineering design, manufacture, installation and management services.

Consulmet (Pty) Limited has three primary focus areas aimed primarily at the metals and mineral processing sectors. These areas include:

o Supply of customised engineering solutions o Modular Process Plants for Metals and Minerals o Specialist manufacture of flocculant and reagent dosing systems.

Consulmet (Pty) Limited specialises in the application of modular recovery solutions for the small scale mining and exploration sector of the Metals and Minerals industries predominantly on the African continent. Having said this Consulmet is also fully capable of tackling larger projects and has done so on several plants to date. Our modules are trial erected and water tested at our factory before shipment. Typical lead times for total plant fabrication do not exceed six months ex-works Johannesburg. Our modular plants are suited for rugged, remote locations and Consulmet provides erection supervision, with experience from our previous projects, to assist our clients. In addition it commissions its plants and trains client personnel in plant operations. Demand for modular plants and Consulmet’s ability to achieve quick project turnovers sees more and more clients seeking our services.

As part of our rapid expansion we seek to continuously provide packages that suit our clients’ needs and as such have developed our capabilities to include services such as infrastructure development, infrastructure construction, logistics (via road and sea), commissioning of installations, operations and maintenance of plants as well as plant upgrades . The design and construction of TSF (tailings storage facilities) with full operational packages is offered as part of our services to assist clients achieve a full solution in a single engineering house. Additional services like potable water process plants, sewerage plants (with required infrastructure), power generation and security systems have all been successfully added to our portfolio. This coupled with our spares and commodities division affords our clients a diverse base from which to choose the products and services that best meet their needs. Consulmet now focuses on providing engineered processing solutions for the mining and mineral processing industries, providing a competitive range of innovative niche technologies, encompassing capital equipment and process engineering services. We are constantly refining our designs and incorporating the latest technology to provide our clients with optimal solutions for their processing needs.

2.1 Import & Export Logistics Consulmet utilizes its manufacturing and logistics centre in Johannesburg as the primary source of its technology. It is registered with the South African Revenue Service as an importer and exporter and is a member of the South African Capital Equipment Export Council, administered by the South African Department of Trade and Industry. Consulmet is also a member of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce as well as the Angolan Chamber of Commerce. Consulmet also retains the services of dedicated clearing agents to expedite clearing of all trans-border business. Consulmet won the JCCI Exporter of the year award for medium size manufacturers in 2011.

6 Company Summary - Consulmet Metals

Consulmet Metals is an output driven project engineering company capable of project execution from process design through to construction, commissioning and handover, specialising in the field of metals extraction and chemical processing. We are able to execute order of magnitude studies as well as pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. We offer services at highly competitive rates due to flat structuring and hands-on management. In addition to conventional process plants we offer factory-tested skid-mounted plants for remote installation. All designs are produced in the latest 3D Inventor software.

6.1 Capability Consulmet Metals employs qualified process engineers who have experience in concentrator as well as hydrometallurgical plant design and execution. We believe that a good process design lays the foundation for every successful project. As such, we do not compromise on the quality and extent of process design, no matter how big or small the project may be and we will not proceed with detailed design unless a mass balance and process design criteria has been completed.

Collectively we have many years of experience within the process engineering fraternity mainly spent at the major project houses. Our experience includes feasibility studies, detailed design, construction supervision, project management and commissioning within the following mineral and metal processing industries:

new reagent plant model on Page 10. • The Conti-Flow range is a continuous reagent make-up plant fully automated and cost effective. Due to the

continuous design the required tank volumes are reduced which reduces the capital cost of these units. Each unit is skid mounted to eliminate complex civil work and is compact (small footprint). These units are also transported as a complete unit with minimum site work required.

7 Company Summary - Consulmet Reagents

Consulmet has been supplying the industry with reagent storage, mixing, hydration, distribution and dosing plants for the past seven years. We have realized the need for a “one-stop shop” providing the industry with solutions relating to all aspects of reagent storage, make-up, distribution and dosing. As such we have recently established Consulmet Reagents for the sole purpose of capturing a large portion of the market in this regard. We have built up a library of MSDS’s and we have good relationships with reagent suppliers. As process engineers we understand:

• What gases are evolved when reagents are diluted and mixed • In what form and concentration reagents are supplied to end users • What materials of construction are used per type of reagent at the given concentration • What the zoning requirements are in terms of SABS standards • What the heat of dilution and other side effects are when working with reagents • What the storage requirements are and • What the rate of decay and degradation is per type and concentration

We supply a range of pre-designed flocculent and depressant plants from our CMET and CMET Pinnacle ranges. These plants are based on a well proven design which is continually fine-tuned and further developed each time specific challenges are encountered or improvements pointed out by clients and peers. In addition to the standard plants we can provide tailor-made solutions for any reagent plants required including full reagent suite design for flotation plants.

Consulmet Consulting is a consulting engineering company for the metals, minerals and chemical processing industries

CONSULMET Consulting has only been in operation since 2011 and was started in response to a gap in the market for a consulting and design engineering company within the field of hydrometallurgy. The company is flexible enough to execute small projects in a cost efficient manner without the overheads of the large Project Engineering houses. The company shareholders are all employees of CONSULMET Consulting and have experience in a wide range of metal and mineral processes. All are engineers with extensive experience of actually executing projects and commissioning of metallurgical plants.

Current orders are being executed for Anglo Platinum, where CONSULMET Consulting is assisting Anglo Platinum in commissioning and optimisation of a recent expansion to its base metal refinery and a feasibility study for ENRC for a copper leach process in Zambia. CONSULMET Consulting personnel has extensive experience in feasibility studies, design, execution and commissioning of a wide range of plants in the Copper, Nickel, Cobalt, Zinc, Gold and PGM industries.

10 Services

Consulmet (Pty) Limited is a Metallurgical Consulting/Process Engineering and Design Project House, capable of handling full turnkey projects including stand-alone Front-ends, DMS’s, Spiral Plants, Crushing and Recovery Modules, Mobile Plants, Process development as well as Feasibility Study Packages, including all related mining infrastructure. Infrastructure includes power generation and reticulation, water treatment and reticulation, sewerage treatment and reticulation, roads, workshops, housing, mess facilities, security systems, stores, culverts, reservoirs, slimes dams and tailings facilities. With the utilization of the latest technology Consulmet is able to produce cost effective plants.

Part of the services rendered is the transport and installation of entire processing plants and/or spares to any required location in Africa. Consulmet’s is well-experienced in successfully supplying, operating and constructing processing plants and spares in Africa.

Consulmet specialises in the application of customized Modular Recovery Solutions for the Mining and Exploration Sector of the Minerals and Metals Industries. Modular Technologies bridge the gap between Artisanal level Mining or Exploration activities and the large economies of scale operations.

Consulmet specialises in providing full technical backup for all of its installations after successful handover of projects.

Due to the in-depth knowledge of processing plants, separate modules, expected wear areas, various suppliers’ product knowledge and engineering divisions, Consulmet specialises in the assistance of Operations and Critical and Strategic spares lists. Due to the quantity of spares procured through Consulmet for various projects, the Client is able to receive the most competitive deal in the selected spares requirements.

Consulmet (Pty) Ltd mainly specialises in the minerals industry, however the group also consists of other subsidiaries, being Consulmet Metals, Consulmet Consulting, Consulmet Construction, Consulmet Australia, and Consulmet Congo.

All of these entities make use of a dedicated spares division located at the head office in Johannesburg. Consulmet has recently established a Cape Town office which specialises in Coal and Consulting work for De Beers. In addition Consulmet also provides flocculants/reagent make-up and dosing solutions and mining support infrastructure including architectural design and implementation of any mine based infrastructure which includes services, power generation and distribution, workshops, stores, offices, accommodation, etc.

Due to client demand, Consulmet has established an Infrastructure department and has employed specialists in the fields of Commercial Construction, Housing, Roads, Drainage, Storm Water and Civil Construction works to accommodate these functions in-house. The main drive behind this department was due to the huge Infrastructure development that accompanied the 180TPH Diamond processing Plant at Koidu Sierra Leone. The Department is responsible for the Architectural Designs, Geo-technical reports, Civil Designs, Construction, Installation and Implementation of the above mentioned fields on a LSTK basis.

All design work carried out uses the industry standard AutoCAD Inventor design tools which feature full 3-D rendering of all components. This practice eliminates conceptual errors in design, by way of clear visualisation of the final solution.
