High Voltage Distribution System for Agricultural Consumers in the Rural

Areas (PoA)

The low voltage electricity distribution system for the agricultural

feeders is replaced with high voltage distribution system to reduce line

them to comply with carbon credit verification requirements and in the

Implementation of 3.6 Million Solar Home Systems (SHS) (PoA)

Bangladesh

The SHS markets in the off-grid and rural areas of Bangladesh are scaled

up with a sales / performance oriented incentive mechanism. Fund for

the incentives is partly generated using sale of carbon credits. Work

includes streamlining the data management, monitoring, reporting,

verification, capacity building of the stakeholders, addressing the

challenges in obtaining CDM credits and CER issuance. Travelled

Bangladesh

Five million energy efficient CFL lamps are distributed to the households

nation-wide through the program. Lessons learnt from Phase I are

applied for the stroll-out of the phase II. Training and capacity building is

provided to the relevant stakeholders. Travelled throughout Bangladesh

to various Palli Bidyut Samities, which are responsible for electrification

in rural areas.

HHK brick kilns project - bundle 2

Installation and production of bricks from the modern energy efficient

Promotion of Bio-Ethanol as alternative clean fuel for cooking

Tanzania

This USD 25 million GEF funded project involves rolling out of 500,000

ethanol stoves as clean cooking alternatives replacing traditional cook

stoves in peri-urban areas of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania through a strong

Public-Private Partnership development. The Government plans to have

an agreement with the private companies assuring the defined and set

quality of stoves. Those companies responsible for the stoves are

responsible for the fuel also. Also, there is a learning centre, where all

stakeholders can approach for their requirements regarding the project.

various parts of Europe such as UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark,
