• Success ”business idea” = ordinary intelligence work – in fact a running intelligence operation from 2003.

• Collection of documents on vessel by Coastguard – registration and analyses in Directorate of Fisheries

• Information from EU on landings

• Fully documented 20.000 ton in 53 cases to Russia

• 26 vessels inactivated and several companies vent bankrupt.

• Full time for at least one intelligence operator in all agencies for international cooperation = also to be the International intelligence “task force”

Use of informants (HumInt)

• Where, Who, When can information be obtained according to the on going fish crime activity

• Info to be controlled by other sources and evaluated = then information becomes intelligence

• Cheapest way to success = informants • Intelligence can lead to good operative control at

the right moment, the right place with right capacity

• Gives intelligent use of resources
