The new face of Capri Tiberio Palace. Terrace suite, installations and modern art:
renovation of one of the oldest hotels of the island brings a new act of the Capri legend on stage
Capri – CAPRI TIBERIO PALACE, since the early twentieth century
the favourite destination for the most sophisticated and elegant
international set, is opening its 2013 season with major changes
which once again affirm the absolute uniqueness of this magic
place, unequalled throughout the island.
This exclusive 5 star hotel, located in the high middle of the island,
just a short stroll away from the famous Piazzetta, but in an
intimate and sheltered position, is giving both historic clients and
new guests improvements and new suites which tell the essence
and most authentic soul of the Tiberio Palace.

Concept
Capri as a crossroads of the
world, an international meeting
point for enthusiastic travellers
and incurable bon vivants:
curious and refined clients, who
enjoy hints of contemporary
design, yet are fully attuned to
the tradition of the island and
appreciate its values.
It was with them in mind that
Giampiero Panepinto, the
interior designer who thought
up the concept of the rooms
and common areas, has created
a sophisticated mix&match of
styles, stealing colours,
perfumes and atmosphere of
the island and presenting them
again in a contemporary key,
blending them in with the
eclectic decoration elements
Outdoors and Lobby
The Mediterranean soul
appears in the optical white
used for the accessories,
essential and linear, and for the
shutters which mark the façade,
as well as in the rich
Mediterranean plants which
decorate the terrace and lobby
of the Hotel.
When you cross the threshold,
you immediately feel you are a
guest at the house of a great
traveller, richly endowed with
reminiscences, feelings and
objects. Each space is taken up
by seats, niches, mirrors of
everyday familiarity, and in
each corner, there are libraries
for the guests to page through.
Eclectic and carefully chosen
fittings are to be found in the
Lounge and Living area, a mix
between Design, memorabilia
and vintage items, seen through
a new approach based on the
use of 50s and 70s optical
inspiration fabrics which confer
a relaxed yet very high level
style on the place, with corners
to relax or converse in and
reading areas organised in
small and comfortable
"alcoves".

Rooms and suites
The décor of rooms and suites -
55 altogether - emerges as an
artful balance of colours which,
customised according to
matching colour themes,
subdivide them according to
exposure and size. Dusty azures
and turquoise, saffron yellow,
neutral and coral shades are
the hues which lead one along,
and which we find again in the
interior decoration fabrics and
headboards, with graphic or
nature-inspired motifs made
exclusively for the Hotel by
Dedar and Limonta.
Wide terraces and balconies
afford views over the blue sea
of Marina Piccola and the white
roofs of the heart of Capri, and
are one of the most attractive
features of the Hotel. The floors
show a play of mixed materials,
with multi-coloured majolica
set into the wooden slat
parquet.
The baths, made of full slabs of
travertine and decorated with
mosaic friezes, are equipped
with large tubs or shower
areas. With its load of
contemporary and vintage
items from all around the
world, each room has its own
story to tell, different from all
others.
The jewels in Capri Tiberio
Palace's crown are certainly its
lovely suites. The Hollywood
style Bellevue Suite, and now
this year also the Capri Suite
and the Pan Am Suite.
The Bellevue Suite is a flat
elegantly decorated with pieces
of interior decoration and
antiques artfully chosen to
match, and fitted out with a
living area provided with a
decorative chimney and an
incredible double private
terrace with view.
On demand, the Bellevue Suite
can be connected to a double
bedroom with a terrace, thus
turning into a single large flat
measuring about 150 square
metres and hosting up to 4
people
This Suite is also connected to
the Mojito Terrace,
“belvedere” with a 360° view
over the Mediterranean sea, the
mountain of Capri and the roofs
and terraces of the upper part
of the town of the same name.
On this terrace there is a stone
“splash pool” for 8 people,
overlooking the whole island,
and a teak platform fitted with
sun beds and, on demand, one
can enjoy open air massages.
A scenic installation with 50
small model aeroplanes and an
original vintage globe shows us
we are in the Pan Am Suite.
The name echoes the
atmosphere of the rooms which
are reminiscent of the heydays
of the airline company and its
moving associations: John
Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 60s in
the US, Miami and Cuba with
their lights and incredible
colours.
The Capri Suite is a homage to
the glamour of film stars of the
'50s. This 100 square metre
flat, consisting of a bedroom
and a large separate living
room, is dominated by an
installation of original
magazines of the '60s, touched
up with colour lamps in pop art
style. One immediately notices
a historic cover of Life
Magazine with Sofia Loren and
a black and white photo of Liz
Taylor and Richard Burton,
who were also guests at the
hotel in one of its many
previous lives.

have large stone bathtubs, with a

inside and double jet with rain

also has a double washbasin and
separate toilets.
Terrace suite
This year, your stay will be made
even more pleasant thanks to
the Terrace Suites: a new
format which represents the
most authentic essence and soul
of Capri, with breathtaking
lights, perfumes, colours and
views.
These one bedroom suites
feature ample private terraces,
as large as the rooms: verandas
completely fitted out and
equipped with couches,
armchairs, sunbeds and table,
laid out on hand painted Vietri
majolica floors.
Great arcades draw spaces with an effect of great size and
airiness, projecting the rooms outwards, towards the sea.
From the terraces, one can admire a matchless view over
the sea and Capri, or simply relax enjoying peace and
silence after having closed the soft outside curtains.
Each suite is customised and made different from all the
others thanks to vintage furnishing accessories, ethnic
furniture and design items, the only fil rouge being the
original wooden fish made using hand painted recycled
material.

Restaurant
Terrazza Tiberio is the Capri Tiberio Palace
restaurant: 60 covers between the main hall and a
splendid terrace overlooking the southern side of
the island, in a chic contemporary environment, but
with clear local identity.
Starting this year, Terrazza Tiberio - the leading
restaurant of the whole island - will accompany its
menus based on a strong regional Mediterranean
identify focused on the quality and seasonal use of
ingredients - with a range of kosher-certified dishes
for practising Jewish clients.
Each dish, prepared according to the prescriptions
of the Jewish religion and guaranteed by strict
rabbinical control - to ensure both compliance with
the complex prescription of religious law on
nutrition and freshness, quality, taste and perfumes
awaiting discovery - will be served in a separate
part of the restaurant, reserved to the consumption
of such food, in strict compliance with religious law.
The decoration of the room features an installation-
sculpture by the Florentine artist Marina Calamai,
representing a composition of sweets and cakes
which sublimate the temptations of gluttony, in a
balance between irony and surreal fascination.
Alongside the flagship proposals of the kitchen
such as Potatoes and squids with herbs, anchovy and
pistachio sauce and Mezzi paccheri pasta with
amberjack, mussels and bottarga, with this season
will also find such strictly kosher products as
Couscous with haraimi sauce and Ground and
skewered meat kebab.
The Wine menu provides a selection of the great
wines of Campania, with an excursion into such
excellent wine producing areas as Friuli, Sicily and
Sardinia. Strictly Italian sparkles, Franciacorta
Trentino and Veneto and a selection of Champagnes
from the best producers in France.
Jacky Bar
On the mezzanine floor, through the great entrance
terrace, you go into the Jacky Bar, meeting place for
guests and patrons of the island. It has a large scenic
terrace, with one of the best views over Capri's
sunsets, where you can enjoy sipping a "Caesar
Tonic Pepper" - the signature cocktail of the bar -
before diving into the Capri night
life.
A bar of contemporary inspiration, with large
counter decorated with powerful graphic motifs
and designed around the century old palm tree
which goes through its ceiling, the Jacky Bar has an
atmosphere somewhere between Cotton Club and
Cuba of the 60s, following a vaguely nostalgic vein
which can also be found in the rooms. An elegant
white grand piano and a wall decorated with
authentic Borsalino panama hats make a beautiful
impression, bringing those worlds back to mind.

SPA Tiberio
One of the most inspiring areas of the hotel is Spa Tiberio, a
true oasis of well being, where the guests can live over the
emotions of a day passed on the shores of the Mediterranean
through an authentic experience of the senses.
Every detail of the spa area has been carefully designed: a
tatami flipflop installation at the entrance of the reception
receives the guests in a Zen atmosphere reminiscent of the
wisdom of Oriental sciences. 1200 square metres laid out
over two floors including a large indoor swimming pool with a
whirlpool, a homae to the ancient Roman baths of Tiberius,
which extends through large glass window panes to the
outdoor solarium of the main terrace, a “Waterway” and a
“Treatment Area”.
A door cut into the tuff leads to a water-therapy
itinerary, where one of the precious essence of the
Mediterranean, chosen by the guest, is released into the
air. Through a sequence of four therapeutic showers -
connective, Scotch, emotional and water jet - the guest
reaches the relax area, steeped in a relaxing blue light,
with a Turkish bath, sauna and a jet whirlpool.
The spa also offers a wide range of massages and face and
body treatments by Sodashi, an Australian company famous
around the world for its skin care products based on totally
natural ingredients, used pure.
Suited to both men and women, the vast range
of Sodashi products is formulated using a
unique combination of biochemistry,
aromatherapy and Ayurvedic principles, with
all the regenerating and anti-aging effects
which come from vegetable essences and other
natural ingredients extracted because of their
purity, power and therapeutic quality.
It is coincidence that in Sanskrit the word
Sodashi means "Integrity, Purity and Light",
the values behind the company and its
products.
The treatment area is decorated with an
essential design, based on absolute white and
steeped in an inspiring blue light which brings
to mind the reflections of the sea. Six spacious
and comfortable luxury treatment rooms, fitted
with shower and wardrobe, one a Due SPA for
treating pairs of people, one reserved to
whirlpool and the other to shiatsu treatment.
The itinerary finishes with a relax area, where
you can refresh and hydrate yourself with
delicious infusion or tea.
Fitness
Attached to the spa, the Fitness Club has latest
generation Technogym machinery with
treadmills, workout benches, weights and
equipment for calisthenics, including Pilates.
