JOHOR 1 - “It is important to have good family ties.”

With close reference to the text, how is this portrayed in the novel you have read

Based on the novel Captain Nobody by Dean Pitchford that I have studied, the story

is about a kid, Newton Newman who is trying to be noticed by people around and changed

himself from a zero to a hero. In this novel, Newt used all of his effort to tighten the good ties

between the members of his family and truly shows us the importance of having good family

ties.

First and foremost, this can be seen when Newt prepared breakfast for his family. He

served all of the meals by himself because he knew that his family had a lot of work to do.

He also wanted to enjoy the moment of having breakfast with his family together. In my

opinion, we have to always be aware when our parents’ are busy and we need to help them

in order to ease their burden.

Next, it is absolutely portrayed when Newt tried his best to cheer his mother up by

wearing Chris’s jersey. He tried to comfort his mother even though she was still deeply in her

grief about Chris’s accident. I think Newt showed a lot about having the good family ties by

taking good care of his mother even though he was only a 10-year-old kid. In my opinion, we

have to give attention to Newt’s action because he had taught us to show our love towards

our family especially in difficult times.

Lastly, the importance of having good family ties was clearly portrayed when all of

Newt’s family members came to the Big Game between Fillmore High School and Merrimac

High School that Chris had played in. This greatly showed the strength of good family ties

between each members of Newt’s family. Their parents still come to the Big Game even

though they were having a lot of work to do and think about. I think, this good family ties

among them should motivate us to do the same thing by spending time with our parents and

siblings in order to show our love towards our family members.

In a nutshell, these evidences show the importance of having good family ties that

have been portrayed in this novel and it has inspired me to be a better person towards my

family.

JOHOR 2 - Based on the novel you have studied, describe an event that changes the

life of a character in the novel. Support your answer with close evidence from the text

There is a novel that I had learnt, which is Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford.

The novel tells us a story about a boy; Newtan Newman who lacks self-esteem but finally

had found his true colours in his life. It happens when he faced an incident that surely had

changed his whole life.

The event happened when Newt’s best friends JJ and Cecil were helping to find a

suitable costume for Newt for Halloween night. At first, he just wore uninteresting clothes

which are Chris’ old clothes. But then, Cecil and JJ used all of their creativity to find a brand

new look for Newt. JJ cut Chris’ sweater and changed it into a meaningful mask for Newt

which is the mask that he will wear to save people as the story progresses. In my opinion,

this event completely changed his life because after he dons his Captain Nobody costume,

he has become a more confident person than before.

The event had caused a change in Newt’s life as the costume helped him to conquer

all of his fears. It was shown when Newt helped Cecil to get the big bass drum on the top of

the dumpster. At first, he was afraid to climb up the dumpster but Cecil tried to convince him

that Captain Nobody should not be afraid of anything. He realised that he was wearing the

Captain Nobody costume and out of nowhere, his courage started to burn inside him. He

then fearlessly climbed up the dumpster to get the big bass drum for his friend, Cecil. In my

opinion, the costume changed his life from a scaredy cat into a fierce lion that had no fear.

Apart from that, the reason why I believe that the event had changed Newt’s life is

when he was brave enough run onto the highway to save Ferocious the Ferret. It was an

unexpected action to be done by a kid who is still in primary school. Once again, this brave

action was done when he was in his Captain Nobody costume. This costume gave him

confidence in himself. In my opinion, Newt’s life had changed a lot because of his costume.

He dared to risk his life only to save an animal’s life. He took a big risk to make sure that

nothing bad happened to Ferocious the Ferret. So, I think maybe we can also find something

for our own self that can give us the spirit to overcome our weakness to be a better person in

the future.

To wrap it up, the evidence above clearly proves that making the Captain Nobody

costume is an event that had changed Newt’s life. Newt had become an extraordinary

person because of his costume.

JOHOR 3 – “A friend will be a friend in times of all kinds.”

Based on the quote above, describe the value of friendship in one’s life. Support your

Based on the novel that I have studied in form 5, which is Captain Nobody by Dean

Pitchford, there is a kid named Newton Newman or well-known as Captain Nobody. Newt

had a very good friendship ties with his friends, who are Cecil and JJ. They have been

friends for a long time and they always stick together through thick or thin. In my opinion, the

novel clearly shows the value of friendship is important in one’s life.

First of all, the value of friendship between Newt and his friends can be seen when

Cecil and JJ came to Newt’s house during Halloween night. When they arrived, Newt was in

Chris’s big jersey and he looked like he was not prepared for the Halloween night

celebration. Without hesitation, JJ and Cecil helped to make the costume for Newt. JJ and

Cecil used their own creativity to find a better look for Newt. JJ cut Chris’s old red sweater to

make a mask for Newt. By wearing the mask, Newt became more brave and confident. I

think, Newt’s friends showed the value of friendship by helping him to prepare for the

costume together. Without their help, Newt would not have had his special Captain Nobody

costume. So, we have to always help our friends who are in need because a friend in need

is a friend indeed.

Next, the value of friendship was clearly shown when Newt was called by Cecil to get

a big bass drum for him. Although Newt refused at first, he finally decided to help and

managed to overcome his fear to get the big bass drum at the top of the dumpster even

though he is an acrophobic. This scene greatly shows the good values of friendship between

Newt and his friend Cecil. I think, we should help our friends whenever they need help to

appreciate our friendship with them. Besides, one day we might need their help in return.

The value of friendship has also been portrayed when Newt quickly came after he got

a call from JJ. He helped JJ when she asked him to tell the Sullivans to fix the grammatical

errors at the Sullivan’s Jewellery Store such as the wrong spelling of ‘necklace’ and ‘karat’.

Newt braved himself to talk with Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan to make the perfectionist JJ happy. In

my opinion, Newt’s action perfectly shows the value of friendship that we can practice with

our own friend to ensure our relationship will always remain strong.

In a nutshell, I think these are the evidences that greatly help us to learn and become

a good friend in our life.

KEDAH - “Friends should support each other.”

With close reference to the text, how is this portrayed in the novel you have read?

Based on the novel Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford that I have learnt in

form 5, there are a few events that portrayed friends should support each other.

Firstly, the event that portrayed friends should support each other is when Cecil and

JJ helped Newt to make a costume for him. On Halloween night, Newt still had not prepared

his Halloween costume because his mind was occupied with his brother, Chris. When JJ and

Cecil arrived, they decided to transform Newt’s appearance by helping him to make his

costume. I think if JJ and Cecil did not help Nest to make his costume, I am sure Newt’s

alter-ego will not exist and Newt would not be the hero of Appleton.

Next, Newt helping Cecil to get the big bass drum is also the evidence that friends

should support each other. Cecil asked Captain Nobody for help to get the big bass drum

from the dumpster. At first, Captain Nobody refused to help Cecil as he had acrophobia

which is a fear of heights. Finally, Captain Nobody agreed to help Cecil because Cecil

convinced him it was a job for Captain Nobody and Captain Nobody should be fearless. In

my opinion, friends should help each other and build trust between them even when the

situation is challenging.

Lastly, saving Reggie Ratner is another evidence that shows friends should support

each other. When Newt heard about Reggie Ratner climbing the Appleton Water Tower to

commit suicide, he rushed to the scene with the help of JJ who gave him a ride. When he

arrived at the scene, Cecil distracted the police so that Newt could climb the Appleton Water

tower to save Reggie. In my personal view, without JJ and Cecil’s help, Newt would not be

able to climb the water tower and the truth about Reggie’s action would never be told.

In conclusion, the evidence above clearly show that we ought to support our friends

whenever our friends need us.

KELANTAN - Based on the novel you have read, write about how being positive helps

the characters in the story. Support your answer with close reference to the text.

Based on the novel Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford that I have learnt in

form 5, being positive really helps the characters in this story.

Firstly, Newt was being positive to help Cecil when Cecil had asked him to take the

big bass drum on the top of the dumpster for him. At first, Newt refused as he had

acrophobia which is a fear of heights but Newt tried to be positive to overcome his fear when

Cecil convinced him that Captain Nobody was fearless. Finally, Newt was able to climb the

dumpster and send the drum to Cecil. IN my opinion, if Newt was not being positive, Newt

would not be able to climb and get the drum and Cecil may lost his trust towards Captain

Nobody.

Next, Newt chasing Ferocious the ferret is also the evidence for being positive helps.

Ricky Ratner, Reggie Ratner’s cousin caused some chaos that unfortunately let Ferocious

escape from its cage. Ferocious ran onto the highway and Newt had to chase Ferocious to

save it. Even though it was dangerous, Newton was being positive that he could save the

ferret. I think, if Newt did not rush to stop the vehicles, the ferret might be run over and on

top of that, the passengers on the airplane would be in peril because it could not land.

Lastly, Reggie Ratner showed he was being positive although he had to face many

difficulties after he was being accused of causing Chris’s coma. Although people had thrown

rubbish in front of Reggie’s house and he had to pay for the pizza that he did not order, he

never held any grudge towards Chris’s friends and family. When Newt tried to save him on

top of the water tower, he was not angry at Newt because his brother had caused him to

face so much difficulty. In my opinion, if Reggie Ratner was not being positive, he might

really be attempting to commit suicide.

In conclusion, I had learnt that by being positive, we can overcome our problems like

the example that had been shown by the characters in the novel. Sometimes, we will face

challenges in life but by being positive, we will be able to endure any difficulty.

MELAKA – Based on the novel you have studied, write about an event in the novel

that you find to be the most memorable. Give reasons for your choice and support

Based on the novel, Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford that I have learnt in

form 5, there was an event in the novel that is the most memorable.

The most memorable event in the novel is when Newt Newman, also known as

Captain Nobody saved Reggie Ratner. When Newt heard that Reggie climbed the water

tower to commit suicide, he rushed to the scene with the help of JJ who gave him a ride. As

he arrived, he could not climb the Appleton Water Tower because there was a team of

police. Cecil tried to distract the police so that Newt could climb the tower in order to save

Reggie. On the rooftop of the water tower, Newt told the truth to Reggie about the Big Tackle

Incident because he knew it was not Reggie’s fault that put his brother into coma. Actually,

Reggie did not want to commit suicide but he just wanted to spray ‘Go Merrimac!’ on the

water tank to show his support.

The reason why the event is the most memorable is because the truth about the Big

Tackle had been unfold. Newt knew it was not Reggie that put Chris into coma but it was his

brother’s teammate Darryl Peeps. With the help of his two friends JJ and Cecil, he could

climb the tallest structure in Appleton. He told Reggie that he knew it was not his fault and

Reggie felt happy because someone finally knew about the truth. In my personal view, if

Newt did not climb the water tower, people will have misunderstood about Reggie’s action

until the end and people will not stop bullying him.

Next, the event also showed how Newt overcame his fear when he managed to climb

the water tower which is Appleton Water Tower. The fact that Newt managed to climb the

water tower was amazing as he had acrophobia which is a fear of heights. Thanks to his

courage to overcome his fear, he was able to tell Reggie Ratner the truth about the Big

Tackle and save Reggie who was stuck on the top of the water tower. In my opinion, this is

the reason why the event could be so memorable because not everyone could overcome

their fear and to be honest to everybody around them.

In a nutshell, this event was so memorable because there are two big things that

happened. This event made the story a lot more interesting.

Based on the novel Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford that I have learned,

there is an important decision by Newton Newman who is also known as Captain Nobody.

The important decision that Captain Nobody made is when Cecil called him for help

using his walkie-talkie. At first, Captain Nobody did not want to respond to Cecil at all. In fact

he wanted to go straight away to his home to show his amazing costume to his parents.

However, Captain Nobody had second thoughts and finally he decided to help Cecil even

though he did not know what was waiting for him there.

I agree with Captain Nobody's decision because of a few reasons below. Firstly, if he

did not come to help, Cecil would not get his big bass drum. Cecil desired to get the drum as

he really wanted to be a drummer. This situation showed that Newt had a strong friendship

and bravery to overcome his fear. It also showed that Captain Nobody is not selfish. In my

opinion, this is an important decision because it convinced Cecil and even Newt himself

believe in the power of Captain Nobody.

The next reason why I agree with Captain Nobody’s decisions is because his decision

to help Cecil caused him to meet Mr Clay who could not find his way home. So, Captain

Nobody decided to help Mr Clay by sending him home. He made this decision because he

was worried about Mr Clay's safety as he is a kind person. I think we should help people in

need like Mr Clay so that nothing bad will happen to the people in our neighbourhood.

To wrap it up, the decision that Captain Nobody made had given amazing impact to

people around him. So, we should think before we do something because our decision can

have significant impact to people around us as well without us even realising it.

NEGERI SEMBILAN - Based on the novel you have studied, describe a situation where

one of the characters has done an amazing deed. Give reasons why you find this deed

amazing with close reference to the text.

Based on the novel captain nobody written by Dean Pitchford that I have learned,

there is a situation where one of the characters has done an amazing deed. That character

is Newt Newman or Captain Nobody.

One day at school, Captain Nobody was tasked to take care of Ferocious The Ferret.

On his way home however, Captain Nobody was harassed by Ricky Ratner and his buddies

who tried to take the ferret away. During their tussle, the cage accidentally opened, causing

the ferret to run away. Captain Nobody and his friends quickly chased the ferret.

The reasons why I found Captain Nobody has done an amazing deed is he had

saved the ferret. Captain Nobody, Cecil and JJ ran after the ferret to the highway. When they

arrived, only Captain Nobody had the courage to run to the middle of the highway in order to

save the ferret. Captain Nobody was waving his hand to stop the cars at the highway.

Suddenly, an aeroplane appeared and landed on the now cleared highway. Captain Nobody

grabbed Ferocious and left the scene.

I find this deed amazing for a few reasons. First of all, Captain Nobody had

unintentionally saved the passengers. The airplane had to land because of the broken

engine but the airplane had no place for emergency landing. When Captain Nobody stopped

the car, so the airplane had place to land. Due to his action, not only the ferret was saved

but the passengers were saved too..

In a nutshell, it was amazing for a ten years old boy to save the airplane from crash.

Captain Nobody is brave enough to ran towards the highway to save the ferret. If I were him,

maybe I did not.

Based on the novel Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford, determination is

important to achieve what one desires. The main character; Newton Newman or better

known as Captain Nobody showed his determination in this novel.

Firstly, Captain Nobody was determined to save Reggie Ratner who people thought

wanted to commit suicide. Captain Nobody ran quickly to the Appleton Water Tower as he

watched the news on the television. He overcame his fear to climb the Appleton Water

Tower - the highest structure in the town. In my opinion. Newt achieved his desires to be a

well-known hero because of his determination to save Reggie Ratner.

Next, saving Ferocious the Ferret showed Captain Nobody's determination. Captain

Nobody ran after the Ferret as it ran out from the cage when they were harassed by Ricky

Ratner. He ran towards the highway just to save the Ferret and waved his hand to stop the

vehicles. Due to his action, not only the Ferret was saved but the passengers in the plane

were saved too. Again, Newt became a hero who saved the day. Newt showed that without

determination, we will not be able to achieve our desires.

Captain Nobody also showed his determination when he wanted to get the Big Bass

Drum for his friend, Cecil. Captain Nobody was afraid of heights but he bravely climbed up

the dumpster for the sake of his best friend because he was determined to help his friend. In

my opinion, having determination will not only benefit ourseld but also others around us like

Captain Nobody did by helping Cecil and Mr. Clay.

In a nutshell, the evidences above proves the importance of having determination.

So, we should be determined and work hard to achieve our desires

PERAK - Based on the novel that you have read, describe a character who has

displayed strong determination throughout the story. Describe how you can relate to

Based on the novel, Captain Nobody by Dean Pitchford, a character that displayed

strong determination throughout the story is Newton Newman.

The evidence that shows Newton Newman is a determined person is when he

helped Cecil to get the big bass drum at the top of the dumpster even though he was scared

of heights. This event shows that as a young person, we should have strong determination

by overcoming our fear to achieve something impossible. In my opinion, if we can have our

own target, we cannot say something is impossible as a strong determination can lead us to

do something that might seem impossible.

Next, Newt displayed strong determination when he helped JJ to correct the

grammatical spelling error at the Sullivan’s Jewellery store. Newt was determined to tell Mr

and Mrs Sullivan about the grammatical and spelling errors although he was just a ten year

old boy. As a young person, telling elders about their mistake can be really scary because

they will assume us a rude child. In my opinion, Newt was doing an excellent action which

required a great determination as a young person.

Besides, Newton Newman reflects strong determination by climbing up the

Appleton water tower in order to save Reggie Ratner who wanted to commit suicide.

Actually, Newt thought that Reggie wanted to commit suicide but he only wanted to paint the

tower wall to show support for his team. As a young person, we should be brave and

determined to save anyone. In my opinion, we have to face our fear to overcome it like Newt

who shows strong determination to face his fear of heights.

In conclusion, Newt is a great role model for us because as a young person, he

showed amazing determination. I hope I can be as determined as Newt.

Based on the novel Captain Nobody by Dean Pitchford ,there is an event that

teaches us me many lessons.

An event that teach me many lesson is shown when Cecil called Newt using his

walkie talkie. He asked Newt to help him to get the big bass drum at the top of the dumpster.

As we know, Newt is an acrophobic but Cecil told Newt that Captain Nobody has no fear.

Newt overcomes his fear and climbed the dumpster and took the big bass drum for Cecil.

When he climbed down, his ankle had been grabbed by Mr. Clay who had ran out of his

medicine and forgot the way to his house. At last, Newt took Mr. Clay to his home.

This event teaches me to be a helpful person. We need to be helpful person in our

life by helping people who are in need. As example, Newt was helping Cecil to get the big

bass drum and sent Mr. Clay home. In my opinion, helping others is something we should

practice all the time as it will not only make others happy, but we also feel more contented.

Next, this event also teaches us to be a brave person by overcoming our fear. In this

event, Newt shows his bravery by helping Cecil to get the big bass drum even though he is

afraid of heights. In my opinion, sometimes in life, we will face tough challenges, but if we

can learn to be brave and overcome our fears, we can achieve the impossible.

Lastly, this event also teaches us that we need to support or friends. We must love

our friends by helping them when they are in need. Newt who always helped his friends

showed this when he helped Cecil to bring down the big bass drum to fulfil Cecil's request. In

my opinion, supporting our friend in life is a good deed as true friends will always be with us

through thick or thin.

In a nutshell, I had learnt many life lessons from this event. Newt Newman had

become a role model for me.

Based on the novel Captain Nobody written by Dean Pitchford that I had learnt in

form 5, it is about a ten year old boy, Newton Newman who was struggling to become well-

known from the unknown. There is an event that teaches me an important lesson.

The event that teaches me an important lesson is when Newton Newman wanted to

save Reggie Ratner who wanted to commit suicide. Captain Nobody thought that Reggie

Ratner wanted to commit suicide but actually he wanted to paint the tower wall to show

support for his team. Newt wanted to tell him that he was innocent in making his brother into

a comma accident. Darryll Peeps was the one who was responsible for the accident. Reggie

was blamed for the one who did it and his house had garbage thrown by Newt's brother's

friend. His tyre got slashed and he had to pay for the pizza orders that he didn't order.

An important lesson that I learnt is we need to be brave in order to doing something.

As example, Newt who was a young boy show that he was very brave as he climbed the

Appleton Water Tower to save Reggie Ratner. This is even more incredible since he is an

acrophobic, which means he has a phobia of heights.

The reason why I believe this lesson is important for people like we is because

sometimes in our life, we will face challenges that can only be solved by overcoming our

fear. Because of Newt’s action, he had cleared Reggie’s name and so the terrible bullying

will finally stop.

In a nutshell, I had learnt a very useful lesson from this event that will help me in this

life. Newton Newman bring lots of very meaningful lessons for my life.

SELANGOR A - “We can learn so much from a person.”

Based on the novel you have studied, discuss the lessons you have learnt based on a

character. Support your answer with close reference to the text.

Based on the novel, Captain Nobody that I had learnt in form 5 written by Dean

Pitchford, I had learned many lessons from Newton Newman or also known as Captain

Nobody. Newt is 10 years old boy who lived in his brother’s shadow but as the story

progresses, he became the town hero.

Firstly, the lesson that I had learnt is we must be helpful. For example, when Newt

helped Cecil to get the big bass drum. When Cecil asked Newt to help him to get the big

bass drum, Newt refused to do it because he was afraid of heights. But then, Cecil told Newt

that he was Captain Nobody so he should not be afraid of anything and after that, Newt

helped Cecil to get the big bass drum. In my opinion, Newt taught me that we must always

help our friends no matter what.

Next, we must be a kind person towards the people around us. For example, when

Newt tried to climb down the dumpster after helping Cecil, someone grabbed his ankle. It

was Mr Clay, a keysmith who was suffering from dementia. Being the kind-hearted person

he was, Newt showed Mr Clay his way home. When they reached Mr Clay’s house, his wife

was very happy to see him. In my opinion, Newt helping the elderly is a good deed and is

something that we should do too.

In addition, Newt also had taught me that we must be brave and confident when we

try to save someone who is in trouble. For the evidence, Newt had climbed up the water

tower to save Reggie Ratner who everyone expected to want to commit suicide after he was

being blamed for Chris’s accident. On Newt’s way to reach the top of the water tower, his

mask was ripped off when it was stuck on a crooked nail. Yet, Newt still continued his climb

although his self-confidence must have lowered without his Captain Nobody mask. In my

opinion, Newt had taught me the importance of being brave and trusting in our own power.

We do not need to be a superhero to do something courageous.

In a nutshell, Newt’s good deeds towards the others had made him became a

famous person although in the beginning of the story, Newt was a timid boy. There are many

lessons that I have learned from Newt that I can incorporate in my own life.

SELANGOR B - “This novel teaches us many lessons about life.”

Based on the novel you have read, discuss the lessons you have learnt based on one

main event. Support your answer with close reference to the text.

Based on the novel that I had learnt in form 5 , which is Captain Nobody written by

Dean Pitchford, I have learnt many lessons from one event in the novel which is when Newt

saved Reggie Ratner.

First of all, the first lessons that I have learnt from this event is we need to be a

responsible person. This can be proven when Newt heard the news about Reggie who

wanted to commit suicide. He felt responsible towards Reggie because he knew that it was

not Reggie who knocked his brother, Chris. So in my opinion, this scene taught us that we

need to be responsible to help people who are in trouble because we never know what will

happen to them if we choose to ignore than to care.

Next, I learnt that we have to be determined in our act. For the evidence, Newt was

determined when he was climbing the water tower to save Reggie Ratner. His determination

was more obvious when his mask was ripped off because it was stuck on a crooked nail.

The mask was important for Newt because he gained his self-confidence when he wore it. In

that situation, although he might lose his self-confidence, his determination to save Reggie

Ratner strengthened his resolve to continue his climb. In my opinion, we have to always be

determined despite facing problems in our life in order to achieve our goals.

In addition, the lessons that I have learnt from this event is we need to help our

friends. This is shown Newt’s best friends helped him to save Reggie Ratner. JJ helped

Newt to climb up the first rung of the ladder as she was the tallest among them while Cecil

tried to attract the police’s attention when Newt tried to climb up the water tower. Because of

JJ and Cecil’s help, Newt could save Reggie Ratner. In my opinion, this scene showed us

that friends are important as with their help, we can overcome even the most difficult

problem.

In a nutshell, the evidences above clearly shows that this one event has many

important lessons that we can learn from.

TERENGGANU - “Determination leads to success.”

How is this shown in the novel you have studied? Support your answer with close

reference to the text.

Based on the novel that I have learnt in form 5 which is Captain Nobody written by

Dean Pitchford, I agree with the statement that “determination leads to success”. This had

been proven by the characters in various events in the novel.

First of all, the value of determination in achieving success had been shown in this

novel when JJ and Cecil went through a lot of trouble to create the costume as Newt didn’t

want to celebrate Halloween because he did not have a good costume and thinking of his

brother’s condition. But then, Cecil and JJ managed to console him. In my opinion, if they

were not determined to console Newt to celebrate the Halloween and create the costume,

Captain Nobody would not exist and Newt’s heroic events in this novel would not happen.

Secondly, the statement was proven to be true when Newt tried to save Ferocious

the ferret. Newt and his best friend were on their way home with Newt holding the cage of

the ferret when they were stopped by Ricky Ratner and his friends. While they were arguing,

the cage was opened and the ferret hurriedly ran away. It dashed onto the road which was

full of vehicles. Newt was determined to save the ferret when he bravely diced with death

and stopped all the cars. In my opinion, if Newt was not determined to save the ferret, the

school’s football mascot will surely get killed.

In addition, Newt once again shows the value of determination when he tried to save

Reggie Ratner. Everyone in the town thought that Reggie Ratner climbed up the water tower

to commit suicide but actually he just wanted to spray the water tower. Newt heard about the

incident from the news and he immediately went to the water tower and climbed it. This

event strongly showed that Newt was determined to save Reggie Ratner and he had

successfully climbed the highest structure in Appleton despite being afraid of heights. If he

was not that determined, then Reggie would not be saved and people might not know the

truth about Chris’s incident.

In a nutshell, this novel is the events in this novels proves again and again that

determination leads to success. This value had made the novel an absolutely interesting

page turner. So, we need to be as determined as the character in the novel as if we are

determined enough, we will be able to achieve success.
