Introduction

Cardiac arrest- sudden loss of heart function

“It is also called sudden cardiac arrest”, states the

American Heart Association.

The majority that have had a cardiac arrest are men

and people who have coronary heart disease.

Who would be more likely to have a cardiac

arrest?

People who have had a heart attack

Any kind of heart disease contributes to a cardiac arrest.

Athletes

60 year old people

Women over 60 have a chance of getting a cardiac arrest

Why is a cardiac arrest dangerous?

Can’t breathe

Irregular heart beat

Too much cholesterol in heart arteries

Heart gets no blood

Possible death

How can you prevent a cardiac arrest?

Don’t smoke

Eat healthy food

1. Limit food with cholesterol

in it

2. Eat fat free food

Exercise daily

How can you prevent a cardiac arrest?

Treat your body problems regularly

Treat cholesterol problems

Treat blood pressure problems

How long will it take for someone to have a

cardiac arrest right after the symptoms?
