CARDIAC MRI “This is our CMR group” Introduction The mission of Houston Methodist Hospital is to provide high quality, cost-effective health care that delivers the best value to the people we serve in a spiritual environment of caring in association with internationally recognized teaching and research. The continued growth and rapid success of the Cardiac MR Department has been in part due to the integration of vast imaging backgrounds, ranging from: CT, MR, Echocardiography, X-ray and general Ultrasound technologist melded to form our CMRI Team. The next generation on SCMR CMRI technologists will benefit from multi-modality expertise! At Houston Methodist, under Dr. Dipan Shah’s direction, the Cardiac MR Department has flourished. Currently HMH has 2 dedicated magnets for clinical imaging and another magnet dedicated to research and development. The chart shows rapid growth of the CMRI department after 2008, when Cardiology took over the CMR scans. This continued success has paved the way for a 3rd clinical magnet to be ready February of 2017.
