Dear Cardinal Newman School Parents and Friends,

On behalf of the entire Cardinal Newman School community, I welcome you to our big event! I am so pleasedthat you have chosen to come and celebrate with us. Please know that whether you are with us for the first time orhave been with us many times in the past, your presence here tonight is most appreciated.Allow me to share, for just a moment, what your generous support has already helped to provide for us this year.

First, we have been able to make an addition to our Guidance Center creating an additional office for our wonderfulChaplain, Rev. Jeffrey Kirby. What a privilege it is to have a priest at our school to minister to students andfaculty/staff alike!Through the PTO, we have been able to update our faculty, staff, and student computers and will empower us to

continue to do this on a rotating basis year by year. The PTO is also assisting with travel expenses for our ModelUnited Nations Team; they and their advisor have been invited to compete on a national level in New York City inMarch. We are also most grateful to this wonderful organization for sponsoring the Library/Media Center for thenew school. Additionally, we have changed and updated the opportunities for our students to cultivate their leadership skills

through serving their classmates as Class Officers. Each grade level has led or is leading some type of school-wideproject during the course of the year. Likewise, we have provided numerous opportunities for our faculty to updateand/or broaden their classroom skills. They have participated in two large workshops in our diocese with nationally-known teacher trainers—one on “Effective Use of Homework” and the other on “Building Communication Skillswith Students of Varying Learning Styles and Abilities,” and they have continued their work with curriculumdevelopment and the use of formative assessment. Finally, several of our teachers were given the opportunity toattend the National Catholic Educational Association National Conference in Minneapolis, MN. Through thatconference, we have developed and implemented our plan for making data-driven instructional decisions in ourclassrooms, as well as in the broader community of our school. None of these wonderful opportunities would beavailable without the generous support of you, our loyal parents and friends. Please know that we are truly grateful for you, for all that you are and for all that you do for us, not just tonight at

this very special event, but throughout the entire year. Thank you so much for continuing to believe in CardinalNewman School!

Have a wonderful evening!

I am sincerely yours,

Jacqualine KasprowskiPrincipal
