CAREER MENTORING PROGRAMME RAPPORT Criteria to become a mentor Active APMP UK member Able to commit two hours per month per mentee, between one and three concurrent mentees Intend to commit to act as a mentor for a minimum of one year 5+ years industry experience As part of the overall transformation of the APMP UK’s Professional Development support provided to our members, I am delighted to announce the inauguration of the Rapport Career Mentoring Programme. This is a new, highly professional programme that focusses on the individual’s career situation and aspirations within the bid and proposal profession. The aim is to help individuals to be the best they can be in their current role and to provide a platform to help them achieve their aspirations. This will be achieved through a process of reflection, questions, support, signposting, challenge and feedback. We decided that mentors should be formally trained and hence we appointed Leapfrog Mountain, the UK’s accredited Mentoring and Enterprise Academy, as our mentor training organisation. All career mentors will be volunteers and receive no financial remuneration for their services. APMP UK will fund their training as we believe this will deliver a significant benefit to a large number of our members. Our first cohort of 10 career mentors will be trained in February 2020, with a further 10 being trained approximately six months later. Once trained, each career mentor will work with up to three mentees at a time. BECOME A MENTOR I would encourage you to take on this worthwhile and rewarding role of helping our fellow professionals to progress in their chosen career.
