Description: We are looking for Theatre/Improv Artists that has had experience with students in a theatre/education atmosphere

Job Type: Part-timeWhere: Orlando, FLRequired Experience: Education in Performing Arts

Job Pros and Cons ProsTeach kids Uses all of my learning styles and environmental preferencesGet to use my imagination Get to help others (since I am a giver) Get to make connections on a face-to-face level with children Get to sing, dance, act, and do makeup, which are the things I love doing the most!

ConsCrazy schedule Have to watch kids if their parents dont show up in timeWill have to sometimes work on weekendsLots of stressHave to have a lot of fairness and understanding with children

Reality Check This job is not very popular at the moment. A lot of childrens theaters already have an experienced professional working for them. Basically, even though its not a popular job to major in, theres still a lot of competition. After getting my degree, I would like to move to Georgia because thats where I have always dreamed of living, I love it so much! They have many options for theatre in their big cities. I am a giver, verbal-linguistic, and musical person. This job will let me express my natural feelings, but also prepare me to be careful around others. Children are just now developing their certain learning style, and I need to be careful not to try to change who they really are meant to be.

Analysis I love educating children very much, I have found that this is one area that I can find my flow. My other flows can be found in the performing arts. Even though both of my flows can end being physically and emotionally challenging, I am thrilled that I can use both of them in a career. The verbal-linguistic area of this career includes directing productions, coaching, thinking creatively, and providing advice. The musicality portion of this career comes with the musical theatre portion.
