Considers how can the commissioning cycle be adapted to include workplace compassion – there is an interactive guide on the NHS England website

• Rapid Access to Support for Staff who have experienced a traumatic event • We are linked with two different organisations in

Dorset to examine what interventions already exist and how new initiatives may complement it

• Mapping what already exists and seeing how we can enhance it

What Matters Most• What Matters Most to Staff- Exploring what matters most to

staff in care settings using the Plan, Do, Study, Act Methodology adopted for Always Events ® and co-producing with staff

• Four organisations joining us in a small scoping pilot. The criteria are:• Important: People have identified this ‘thing’ as

fundamental to their experience• Evidence-based: This ‘thing’ is known to be positive staff

experience• Measurable: This ‘thing’ is specific enough that it is

possible to accurately and reliably determine whether or not it occurs

• Affordable: This ‘thing’ can be achieved without substantial capital expense

• understanding the challenges and difficulties they face;

• empathising – having a felt connection while being able to tolerate and not over-identify with staff difficulties;

• and taking thoughtful, appropriate action to help and support staff to do their jobs effectively.
