    JERRYRICHARDSON

Jerry Richardson is a native Carolinian whose dream was

to bring NFL football and the world championship he knew as a player in the League to his home. As the Panthers conclude their second decade, Richardson has firmly es-tablished the NFL into the Carolina landscape while dedi-cating his efforts to making the rest of his vision a reality. He is the only person to be inducted into both the North and South Carolina Business and Athletic Halls of Fame.

On October 26, 1993, Richardson became the first for-mer NFL player since George Halas to become an owner

when the Carolinas were unanimously awarded the NFLs 29th franchise. More recently, Richardson served as Co-Chairman of the NFL Executive Committee in reaching an unprecedented 10-year Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFLPA in 2011.

A lifelong resident of the Carolinas, Richardson and his wife, Rosalind Sallenger Richardson, have a son, Mark, a daughter, Ashley Richardson Allen, and lost their eldest son Jon in 2013. The Richardsons have nine grandchil-dren, two great grandchildren, and live in Charlotte.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF OWNERS OFFICENINETEENTH NFL SEASON NINETEENTH PANTHERS SEASON

    TINABECKER

Tina Becker is in her 19th season with the Carolina

Panthers and third as executive director of the owners office. In her role, Becker collaborates with owner/founder Jerry Richardson in executing the organizations business and administrative priorities. In addition, Becker is responsible for the day-to-day management of the owners office and assists the Panthers in league affairs.

Becker has worked directly with Richardson since 2014 when she was named executive office director. In this role, Becker worked closely with all facets of the organization, including business operations, ticketing and sponsorship, stadium operations, entertainment and fan engagement. Prior to joining the owners office, Becker served as the teams director of entertainment from 2012-14.

In addition to her business and operations contributions, across her tenure with the Carolina Panthers, Becker has been a pivotal link between the team and the fan commu-nity. She is responsible for oversight and execution of prom-inent special events for the team, including the Panthers annual tree lighting celebration which began in 2014 and draws an estimated 6,000 fans each year. Becker worked

with executive director of stadium operations Scott Paul to conduct a seven-year research effort to usher in new fan experience initiatives at Bank of America Stadium, which resulted in imaginative game day entertainment, traffic and parking management, and pregame interactive areas. Becker was successful in helping develop the Panthers game day experience to appeal to the family audience while maintaining a unique home-field advantage.

Under her guidance, the Panthers also implemented many new game day elements including the Keep Pounding Drum ceremony. In addition, she worked with the teams Panther-Vision group to develop improved audio and visual elements that utilize the stadiums new high definition scoreboards, rib- bon boards and distributed sound system installed in 2014.

Becker began working full-time with the Panthers in 1999, joining the team as the TopCats coordinator. A former mem-ber, Becker knew game day entertainment first-hand and rose to various positions of increasing responsibility within the entertainment department before her appointment as director of entertainment.

Becker lives in Huntersville, N.C., with her husband Matt and daughter Kaeden.

Mike Dudan is in his 15th season with the Carolina

Panthers and second as chief financial officer. As CFO, Du-dan is responsible for the financial planning and manage-ment of the Panthers and Bank of America Stadium.

Dudan develops and implements the teams financial poli-cies and procedures, manages and forecasts cash flow, establishes budgets, and maintains the teams financial and tax reporting and compliance. Dudan supervises the teams accounting, finance and payroll personnel, and also oversees human resources and information technol-ogy operations.

Prior to being named CFO, Dudan held positions of increas-ing responsibility with the Panthers. He spent two seasons

as director of finance from 2014-15 after joining the Pan-thers in 2003 as controller.

Dudans familiarity with the Panthers financial and ac-counting procedures predated his arrival with the team. He maintained the Panthers as a client from 1996-2003 while employed with public accounting firms Arthur Ander-sen and Deloitte. While with the firms, Dudan worked with clients across a number of industries, including sports and entertainment, textiles, legal services and retail.

A native of Schaumburg, Ill., Dudan and his wife Kristina have three children, Casey, Jacob and Alena.

COACHING: In his seventh season in Carolina, Ron

Rivera is known around the league as a teacher with an innate ability to build his team around the strengths of his players.A two-time NFL Coach of the Year, Rivera inherited a 2-14 Carolina team as a rookie head coach in 2011 and guided it back to relevance in 2015 as Carolina won its second NFC Championship in franchise history, third consecutive NFC South division title and appeared in Super Bowl 50. Carolina finished the season with a franchise-best 17-2 record, including home playoff victories over Seattle in the Divisional round and Arizona in the NFC Champion-ship game.Brought to Carolina for his defensive expertise, Rivera has not disappointed as the Panthers put together four con-secutive top 10 finishes in yards allowed from 2012-15, joining Seattle as the only teams to accomplish the feat. Like Rivera, the Panthers rebound has been steady and solid, starting with six wins his first season in 2011 and seven victories in 2012 before registering three con-secutive division championships starting in 2013 when he earned his first Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year award. Laying a foundation that includes back-to-back rookies of the year in quarterback Cam Newton and linebacker Luke Kuechly, Rivera has blended veteran and young talent into productive units on both sides of the ball.In 2015, Rivera was named NFL Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons as his team earned its third consecutive NFC South title and claimed the top seed in the NFC for the first time in franchise history. The Panthers became just the seventh team in the Super Bowl era to post a 15-1 or better record in the regular season.Prior to Riveras arrival, Carolina had never reached the postseason in consecutive years and no team had captured the NFC South twice in a row. Carolina started 2015 with 14 consecutive victories, which, combined with four wins to close the 2014 regular season, gave the Panthers an NFC-record 18-game winning streak. And yet again, Ri-vera had his team playing its best down the stretch as the Panthers went 4-0 in December and January. Under Ri-veras guidance, Carolina produced a rushing attack that finished seventh in the NFL over the final seven contests, including the playoffs, and posted 27 consecutive regular season games with at least 100 rushing yards. Rivera came to Carolina with a reputation for hard work, attention to detail and preparation. Those were also the qualities he exhibited in his first campaign as the Panthers tripled their win total from the previous season despite no offseason and an epidemic of defensive injuries. Rivera did

not even meet his team until they reported to training camp and, despite a slow start, held it together to finish with four wins in the final six games. His success was no surprise, for Rivera has excelled as a coach and player during his 29 years in the NFL, serv-ing as defensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers top-ranked defense in 2010 and playing linebacker for the Chicago Bears top-ranked defense and Super Bowl XX championship team in 1985. In 20 seasons as a coach and nine as a player, he has been with teams that have reached the playoffs 19 times, including nine conference championships and three Super Bowls. The mentality of the Chargers defense that Rivera coached and the Bears defense on which he played resonates within the head coach, and he has transferred it to the Panthers. In 2012, Carolina finished the season ranked 10th in yards allowed, a jump of 18 places from 2011. It was on the strength of that defensive improvement that the Panthers won five of their last six games to improve their win total for the second consecutive year. Carolina made a similar jump on offense in Riveras first season. With the addition of Newton, the Panthers jumped from last to seventh in total offense in 2011. Riveras identity has been influenced by two innovative defensive coordinators. As a player, Rivera was coached by the late Buddy Ryan, the architect of the 46 Defense, which involved blitzing on nearly every down. As a coach, Rivera toiled under the late Jim Johnson, a highly regarded defensive coordinator renowned for his aggressive ap-proach. His identity also has been shaped by his family. The son of a U.S. Army officer and the second youngest of four boys, Rivera learned from a young age about chain of command and many of the principles he teaches and expects from his players. Coming from a military background, theres a lot of dis-cipline, a lot of structure. Thats how I feel when I coach, Rivera said.Rivera worked with the San Diego Chargers from 2007-10. He coached inside linebackers before taking over as the teams defensive coordinator midway through the 2008 season. With Riveras guidance, the pass defense steadied itself intercepting nine passes and yielding 229.6 passing yards per game and 11 touchdown passes over the final eight games. Those numbers contrasted to the first half of the season when San Diego notched just seven picks and was victimized for 265.1 yards per game and 14 touchdowns through the air.In Riveras first full season leading the defense in 2009, the Chargers ranked 16th in total defense and 11th against

the pass. One of the units strengths was playing tough after offensive turnovers, giving up only 44 points, a figure that tied New England for the second fewest in the NFL.Those rankings improved in 2010 as San Diego led the NFL with an average of 271.6 total yards allowed per game and gave up a league-low 177.8 passing yards per game. Overall, the Chargers finished in the top five in 11 differ-ent defensive statistical categories despite not having any defenders selected to the Pro Bowl. From 2004-06, Rivera oversaw the Chicago Bears defense, engineering the unit to two top-five finishes in the league. Under Riveras direction, five different defensive players went to the Pro Bowl: linebacker Lance Briggs, safety Mike Brown, defensive tackle Tommie Harris, linebacker Brian Urlacher and cornerback Nathan Vasher. In his first season as a defensive coordinator in 2004, Rivera presided over a defense that produced nine more takeaways and 17 more sacks than the previous year and scored a franchise-record and NFC-high six defensive touchdowns. The Bears also thrived on third down and buckled down inside their own 20-yard line, ranking first in the NFL in third-down efficiency (30.5 percent) and topping the NFC in red zone defense (42.6 percent). The following year, Chicago continued to build on the foun-dation Rivera laid in 2004. The Bears won their first of two consecutive NFC North titles and stood second in the NFL in total defense. In surrendering the fewest points in the league, Riveras defense went 43 consecutive quarters without allowing more than seven points the longest streak in the NFL since 1969. Chicago also led the NFL in red zone defense (32.5 percent) and rated second in third-down efficiency (31.9 percent).During Riveras last season with the Bears in 2006, the de-fense paced the NFL with 44 takeaways and finished fifth in the league in total defense and third in scoring defense, helping propel Chicago to the NFC Championship and an appearance in Super Bowl XLI.Prior to becoming a defensive coordinator, Rivera spent five seasons from 1999-2003 as the linebackers coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, who advanced to the NFC Champion-ship game in each of his final three seasons. Twice during Riveras tenure with the Eagles, the team finished second in the NFL in scoring defense and in 2001 held all 16 of its opponents to less than 21 points making them just the fourth team in NFL history to do so. In Riveras five seasons with the Eagles, a member of his linebacking corps led the team in tackles four times.

Rivera gained his first coaching experience with the Bears as defensive quality control coach from 1997 98.He is just the third Latino head coach in NFL history, joining Tom Flores with the Oakland Raiders from 1979-87 and Seattle Seahawks from 1992-94 and Tom Fears with the New Orleans Saints from 1967-70.PLAYING AND PERSONAL: Following his retirement, Rivera went into broadcasting. He covered the Bears and college football as a television analyst for WGN and SportsChannel Chicago for four years from 1993-96.Selected in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft by Chi-cago, Rivera played all nine of his pro seasons with the Bears. Primarily an outside linebacker, he appeared in 149 games with 62 starts (including 12 postseason contests with six starts) and posted 392 tackles, 7.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, nine interceptions and 15 passes defensed. Rivera was a member of six NFC Central division title teams and a Super Bowl XX champi-onship team in 1985.As a player, Rivera was known for both his skill and de-termination on the field and his dedication of time and energy to the community. As a result, he was named the Bears Man of the Year in 1988 and earned the clubs Ed Block Courage Award in 1989. He has carried that same community commitment to coaching, sponsoring a bowling tournament to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, USO and Humane Society. Rivera, who lost his brother Mickey to pancreatic cancer in 2015, also serves as a spokesman for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. He has twice been the honorary starter for the organizations PurpleStride 5K in Charlotte. An All-American at the University of California, Rivera fin-ished his career as the schools all-time leader in sacks with 22 and tackles with 336. As a senior in 1983, he set the Bears single-season record for sacks with 13 and tackles for loss with 26.5.Born Jan. 7, 1962, in Fort Ord, Calif., Rivera lived in Germa-ny, Panama, Washington and Maryland before his family settled in Marina, Calif. He attended Seaside High School in Seaside, Calif., and was a three-sport star in football, basketball and baseball.Rivera and his wife, Stephanie, have two children, Christo-pher and Courtney. Stephanie is a former assistant coach for the WNBAs Washington Mystics.

The Giants capped McGaugheys first season in 2007 with a victory in Super Bowl XLII.He came to the Giants following two seasons as the as-sistant special teams coordinator with the Denver Broncos from 2005-06. In 2006, the Broncos held opponents to an

average of 6.9 yards per punt return, the fifth-best figure in the NFL, and kicker Jason Elam set a then-franchise re-cord with a 93.1 (27-of-29) field goal percentage, which ranked second in the league. The previous year, McGaughey assisted with special teams units that contributed to the Broncos going 13-3, winning the AFC West and advancing to the AFC Championship. In 2003, McGaughey returned to his alma mater, the Uni-versity of Houston, for two seasons. While with the Cougars, he worked as the special teams coordinator in 2003 and added cornerbacks coach to his responsibilities in 2004. McGaughey tutored three future NFL players Stanford Routt, Thomas Gafford and Willie Gaston and recruited future All-Pro Sebastian Vollmer to the school. After getting his start in the NFL as an intern in the Hous-ton Texans pro scouting department in 2001, McGaughey gained experience coaching on the professional level as a minority intern with the Kansas City Chiefs during training camp in 2001 before being hired as an assistant special teams coach in 2002. McGaughey worked with Hall of Fame kicker Morten Anderson and Pro Bowl punt returner Dante Hall who tied for the league lead with three combined kick return touchdowns in 2002. In between his internship and full-time position with the Chiefs, McGaughey spent the spring of 2002 in NFL Europe as the Scottish Claymores defensive backs coach and spe-cial teams coordinator, helping the team rank at or near the top of the league in punting average, punt return average, kickoff return average and field goal percentage.McGaughey began his coaching career at Houston as a graduate assistant in 1997 and next handled defensive backs and special teams at Willowridge High School in Houston from 1998-2001.PLAYING AND PERSONAL: McGaughey played safety for four seasons and was special teams captain as a senior in 1995 at Houston, where he majored in kinesiology and sports administration. COACHING: Mike Shula is in his seventh season with

the Carolina Panthers and his fifth as offensive coordinator in 2017. While overseeing Carolinas offense, the Panthers produced 30 consecutive regular season games with at least 100 rushing yards from Week 6 of 2014 to Week 3 of 2016, the longest streak in the NFL since Pittsburgh tallied 43 from 1974-77.In 2016, Shulas offense battled through injuries along the offensive line to finish 10th in the NFL in rushing, and three players garnered Pro Bowl recognition tight end Greg Olsen, fullback Mike Tolbert and guard Trai Turner. Olsen earned second-team All-Pro honors after leading the team with 80 re-ceptions and 1,073 yards and became the first tight end in NFL history with three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. In 2015, Shula directed an offense that helped Carolina set team records with an NFL-leading 500 points and 59 touch-downs and gain a team-record 357 first downs en route to an NFC Championship and appearance in Super Bowl 50. Six of Shulas charges quarterback Cam Newton, center Ryan Ka-lil, running back Jonathan Stewart, Olsen, Tolbert and Turner were named to the Pro Bowl.Leading the way for Shulas offense was Newton, who was named the NFLs Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year following a career year. A first-team All-Pro, Newton threw for 35 touchdowns, produced a 99.4 quarterback rat-ing, led the NFL with 45 total touchdowns (35 passing, 10 rushing) and became the first player in NFL history with at least 30 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in a season. Just as effective on the ground as it was through the air, Shulas offense ranked second in the NFL with 142.6 rushing yards per game, the highest ranking in team history.Amid a sea of change, Shula was the constant for the offense in 2014 as the Panthers won their second consecutive NFC South title. Despite injuries at quarterback, running back and on the offensive line, Shula helped Carolinas rank sev-enth in rushing, ninth in first downs and 12th in third-down efficiency. It all added up to an average time of possession of 31:47, a team record for the second consecutive year.A year earlier, Shulas offense generated a 31:45 average time of possession, which ranked fifth in the NFL, and finished third in third-down efficiency (43.8 percent) and second in drives of five-plus minutes (30). Protecting the ball was a trademark of an offense that tied a franchise record with just 19 turnovers, the fourth fewest in the NFL. Four players Newton, Kalil, Tol-bert and tackle Jordan Gross played in the Pro Bowl. Prior to becoming offensive coordinator, Shula served as Car-olinas quarterbacks coach for two seasons. He helped shape an offense that gained 12,008 total net yards from 2011-12, the most in a two-year span in team history, and compiled an NFL-high 165 plays that gained 20 or more yards.Shula has been at the center of Newtons development since the quarterback was the No. 1 overall draft choice in 2011. With Shula as his position coach, Newton was named the

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after one of the most prolific rookie seasons in league history, passing for 4,051 yards and accounting for an NFL rookie record 35 total touchdowns (21 passing, 14 rushing). With Newton at the helm, the Panthers set team records with 6,237 total yards and 345 first downs. In 2012, Newton posted an 86.2 passer rating while rushing for more than 700 yards for the second consecutive season. He set a team record with 176 consecutive pass attempts without an interception. A veteran of 29 years in coaching, including 25 as an NFL assistant and four as a college head coach, Shula spent four seasons as the quarterbacks coach of the Jacksonville Jag-uars from 2007-10 before arriving in Carolina. With Jacksonville, Shula mentored David Garrard, who made the Pro Bowl in 2009. In Shulas first year with the Jaguars, Garrard ranked third in the NFL with a 102.2 passer rating, threw an NFL-low three interceptions and established a team record with a 64.0 completion percentage. In 2010, Garrard finished second in the NFL with a fourth-quarter passer rating of 108.3 and engineered five game-winning drives. From 2003-06, Shula compiled a 26-23 record as head coach at Alabama and led the Crimson Tide to three consecutive bowl games. Before returning to his alma mater as head coach, Shula coached the Miami Dolphins quarterbacks for three seasons from 2000-02. It marked his second stint with the team, hav-ing previously served as a coaching assistant from 1991-92.Shula served as offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for four seasons from 1996-99. The Buccaneers reached the playoffs in two of Shulas four years, advancing to the NFC Championship in 1999. Shula helped quarterback Trent Dilfer earn Pro Bowl honors in 1997.Shula joined the Buccaneers from the Chicago Bears, where he handled tight ends for three seasons from 1993-95. He broke into coaching as an offensive assistant for Tampa Bay in 1988 and was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 1990.PLAYING AND PERSONAL: A two-time All-Southeastern Con-ference choice at quarterback for Alabama from 1984-86, Shula completed 298-of-552 passes for 3,881 yards and 33 touchdowns and finished his career with a 32-15-1 record as a starter. He was selected by Tampa Bay in the 12th round of the 1987 NFL Draft and spent part of the season on the Buc-caneers roster. Shula graduated from Alabama with a degree in labor relations. He is the son of legendary NFL head coach Don Shula of the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins and the brother of former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Dave Shula. Shula and his wife, Shari, have three daughters: Sam, Brooke and Ryan.HISTORY: Quarterback: Alabama 1983-86. Pro quarterback: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1987. College coach: Alabama 2003-06 (head coach). COACHING: Steve Wilks brings continuity and famil-

iarity in his first year as the Panthers defensive coordinator in 2017. Wilks transitions to his new role from secondary coach, a position he held for five seasons from 2012-16, and as-sistant head coach, where he helped head coach Ron Rivera with day-to-day operations from 2015-16.Developing young talent has been a trademark of Wilks in his five seasons with Carolina, and 2016 was no different. Second-round draft choice James Bradberry and third-round draft choice Daryl Worley emerged as the teams starting cor-nerbacks. Bradberry recorded 11 passes defensed to become the first rookie to lead the Panthers in passes defensed since 2012, and Worley finished second on the team with 10 passes defensed. Safety Kurt Coleman led the team in interceptions for the second consecutive year with four as Wilks secondary helped the Panthers tie for the NFC lead with 17 interceptions. In 2015, Wilks secondary was instrumental in helping the Panthers advance to Super Bowl 50 and lead the NFL in interceptions (24), total takeaways (39) and turnover differ-ential (plus-20). Despite injuries to several defensive backs, Carolina limited opposing quarterbacks to an NFL-low 73.5 passer rating and ranked sixth in the NFL in total defense the teams fourth consecutive top-10 finish.Coleman tied for third in the NFL with seven interceptions, the second most in team history, and returned one for a touchdown. Cornerback Josh Norman earned first-team All-Pro honors and was selected to the Pro Bowl after recording 15 passes defensed and four interceptions, including two pick-sixes.In 2014, Wilks secondary helped the Panthers rank 10th in the NFL in total defense. In Carolinas 27-16 NFC Wild Card win over Arizona, the secondary contributed two interceptions to a defense that limited the Cardinals to an NFL postseason record low 78 net yards.During the 2013 season, Wilks directed a unit that helped the Panthers finish second in the NFL in total defense and sixth in passing defense. Defensive backs were responsible for 16 interceptions, including a team-record four returned for touchdowns. Carolina also limited opponents to an 81.4 passer rating, which ranked 10th in the NFL. Safety Mike Mitchell was one of two players in the NFL with at least four interceptions, three sacks and two forced fumbles, and cor-nerback Captain Munnerlyn returned his only two intercep-tions for touchdowns.Despite dealing with injuries throughout the season in 2012, the pass defense under Wilks improved from 24th in 2011 to 13th en route to a ranking of 10th in total defense. The sec-ondary propelled the Panthers to a first-place finish in the NFL in average yards after catch, allowed the third fewest pass plays of 20 or more yards and returned three interceptions for touchdowns.

Wilks, a Charlotte native, returned home from the San Diego Chargers, where he oversaw the secondary from 2009-11. He added the assistant head coach title in 2011. Prior to Wilks arrival, San Diego ranked 31st in the NFL against the pass but stood 11th in 2009, first in 2010 and 13th in 2011.
