WeldingCarpenteria Corsi shops main specialization is welding and a long experience has been made in more than 30 years in welding all the type of low and high alloys (Cr, Ni, Ti, Cu alloys etc.)A great effort has been spent to improve training and on welding facilities.
The continuous technology up grading and the utilization of the most advanced facilities are allowing very successful and defect free welding operations. In addition to selecting the most qualified suppliers of base materials and consumable, particular attention has been dedicated to the following important aspects:• Direct supervision of weld processes at the top floor.• Flux handling with no moisture absorption (picture 1).• Controlled procedure of preheating and post heating
(DHT); ISR on restrained welds. (Electric heaters, controlled by surface thermocouples, are used for complex geometry)
• Narrow & Ultra narrow gap beveling (the decreasing of weld volumes with benefit effects on the probability of weld flaws) (picture. 2).
Carpenteria Corsi has full experience and qualified welding procedures and welders on all carbon steel, low alloy steel (1 ¼ Cr 0,5 Mo, 2 ¼ Cr 1 Mo, 2 ¼ Cr 1 Mo ¼ V, 3 Cr 1 Mo ¼ V), cryogenic steel (3÷9% Ni alloy), high alloy steel, duplex and super duplex, as well as weld overlay clad of stainless steels 300 and 400 series and high Nickel alloy.
In addition to commonly used welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW), single and double layer weld overlay have been applied for years using SMAW, SAW and ESW technique. Full control of Sigma phase (Ferrite measurement).
Other welding processes: tube-to-tubesheet welding, Orbital SAW nozzle-to-shell welding, W.O.C on internal diameters up to 38mm.

Welding technical team is dedicated to the supervision of production welding in the shop.Welding processes and welders are qualified in accordance with the main national and international regulations such as: ASME, PED 97/23 witnessed by primary international agencies such as Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV, TUV and others.
All of our qualified welding processes gives evidence of appropriate test to avoid problem in execution and in operation (Step Cool test and transition curve per API RP 934, Disbonding test on W.O.C per ASTM G146, others).Complete control of H2 content in weld consumable from the delivery to the shop up to the weld station to prevent problems in welding and in operation (temper embrittlement, H.I.C., lack of bond).
Welding consumables handling, storage and distribution, since purchasing phase, are H2 controlled to maintain total water less than 0,05% in weight.Additional hydrogen sources that may be encountered in the shop by careless handling are prevented distributing fluxes from consumable storehouse to weld stations using systems that avoid any contacts with air.

Carpenteria Corsi is capable of designing internal and external reactor plants and pressure vessels for industry and petrochemicals, and is able to satisfy the ever increasing demand. To do this it makes use of services offered by the most specialized national Companies in the field, under its own attentive supervision and inspection and in fully accordance to ISO 9001:2008.By gathering the data of the project, a quotation is processed together with a precise estimate of the time required to carry out the project.
Afterwards studies are carried out and structural calculation are made for the measuring of the plant and are elaborated the structural drawings including with details, welding indication, weights and transport details and all documentation connected to the project.
