Carpool/Parking Lot Arrival Procedures Cell phone use is not permitted during carpool drop off time. Adams Lot: Cars will enter and exit through the gate on Adams St. Cars will make a wide loop, in a counter-clockwise direction. This means cars will pull up with the school building on the right hand side of the car. Pull up all the way to the cone so other cars can unload at the same time. Jefferson Lot: Cars drive in the Jefferson side entrance and proceed in a single line to the crosswalk area. Pull up all the way to the staff member with the stop sign. Cars that are stopped in this line will be able to unload the carpool. All cars will remain stopped until all children have walked past the line of cars. At this time, the staff member will remove the stop sign which signals cars to pull straight ahead and exit onto Clay Ave. Dropping students off on Jefferson Avenue (not in the lot) is prohibited. As students are being dropped off, they must cross at the crosswalk. Thank you for your cooperation in these arrival procedures. We want arrivals to be safe and prompt. Please pass these directions on to anyone who drops off your child/ren at school. 8/2021

Adams Lot Afternoon Dismissal Procedure Dear Parents, Dismissal procedures for the Adams Lot were a success last year in assuring more safety for your children. The procedures are as follows:

We ask cars to pull in and be three deep. This means the first car pulling into the lot will have to pull all the way up to the yellow line to be sure there is room for two cars behind that one.

Once all rows have three cars deep, any remaining cars entering the lot will pull in parallel to Adams and the fence in the back of the lot. The first car to pull parallel to Adams will pull almost all the way up to the playground, leaving enough room to be able to pull around towards the school building. Other cars will line up behind this car, keeping parallel to Adams & fence in the back of the lot. If needed, we will start a second row of parallel cars.

We are asking that when you arrive to pick up children at dismissal to please park in section A, B, & C in the diagram below facing the school starting in row 1. Teachers will monitor students going to their cars, as usual. Once teachers see that the students are cleared from the parking lot and no one is walking between cars, we will begin dismissing cars row by row. A teacher will guide the rows so that this may be done in an orderly and efficient manner. Row one (section A, B & C) will be followed by row two (section A, B, & C), which will be followed by row three (section A , B, & C), etc. Accordingly, if you are the first one in the parking lot, you will be the first to leave. Once all rows of section A, B & C are dismissed, the row of cars parallel to the fence closest to Adams will be dismissed. This is section D. As a reminder, the playground is closed. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during the dismissal procedures. Dr. John Freitag, Principal

Jefferson Lot Afternoon Dismissal Procedure

August 2021 Dear Parents,

In order to make dismissal safer on the Jefferson parking lot, we are implementing the following procedures:

At 3:10 PM, the three gates on the parking lot will be closed by the teachers monitoring the parking lot. Parents arriving on the Jefferson lot after 3:10 PM will need to enter the lot using the lane between the church and rectory off Argonne. If you are arriving late, please park on the west side of the lot.

The faculty will be parked in the lot along Jefferson in order to leave the spaces behind the church and those in the interior of the lot available for vehicles that are picking up students. When you park, please face Jefferson to facilitate traffic flow.

Once all students are in their vehicles, the gate on Jefferson (westernmost side of lot) and the exit gate on Clay will be opened. Vehicles will be dismissed in the following order:

o First vehicle next to Clay Avenue exit gate and the one behind it. You may choose to exit on to Clay Avenue or Jefferson Street. If exiting on to Clay Avenue, please note that you cannot make a left turn from this gate. We will continue to dismiss the vehicles parked in this interior section of the lot first.

o The next group of vehicles to be dismissed will be the ones parked near Ursuline Hall, beginning with the ones parked closest to Clay.

o Once these vehicles have moved into place for exit, the vehicles parked behind the church will exit, starting with the vehicle located closest to Clay, followed by all vehicles to its left.

o The last group of vehicles to exit will be the ones parked on the western edge of the lot between the church and rectory.

Traffic monitors will open the entrance gate on Clay and at the crosswalk after dismissal has ended.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we implement these procedures to ensure the safety of your children.
