CARROLL STREET Project Development & Environment Study From John Young Parkway to Michigan Avenue P DE & Issue #2, August 2015 Carroll Street Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study Continues Meeting Purpose The purpose of the Alternatives Public Information Meeting is to obtain input from the public for the development of the alternatives for Carroll Street. The alternatives include the “no-build” alternative, Alternative 1 and Alternative 2. Alternative 1 includes adding two through lanes and installing a median. Alternative 2 includes adding two through lanes and keeping (or installing) a center turn lane. Both Alternatives 1 and 2 will require additional right-of-way. The impacts of widening each alterna- tive to the north or to the south are being evaluated. The PD&E Study began in December 2014. A Public Kickoff Meeting was held on February 26, 2015. A Public Hearing is currently scheduled for the spring of 2016. Osceola County is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for Carroll Street from John Young Parkway to Michigan Avenue in Osceola County. The PD&E Study involves developing and evaluating alternatives to widen the existing roadway and possibly adding a median. A no-build alternative is also being considered. Upcoming Public Meeting The Alternatives Public Information Meeting, scheduled for September 24, 2015, will have an open house format starting at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6:00 pm. Team members will be available to answer questions one-on-one at any time during the informal open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Members of the public may submit written comments at the meeting or by contacting Ms. Joedel Zaballero (contact information on reverse side). She may also be contacted by persons with disabilities who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) at least seven (7) days prior to the Alternatives Public information Meeting.
