Work done to datePublic Meeting 1 and Online Survey
Engagement created a forum for the discussion about programs and experiences. The goal was to reflect the residents’ ideas of a great community.
We shared guiding principles on Experience, Access & Site. This provided opportunities for attendees to offer input.
Public Engagement Date: Sept.18 2017Number of attendees : 30

Work done to datePublic Meeting 1 and Online Survey
The consultation process indicated support for the project as a whole with what was a strong desire expressed for the following activities:
• Skating• Aquatics • Learning• Passive exercise• Creating• Socializing• Viewing
The input reveals the desire for a centrethat is oriented to passive activities; a neighborhood focus as opposed to a regional centre suited for training or competition.

that are environmentally friendly• Multiple ways of getting to the
site• Green education opportunities • Water conservation • Onsite renewable energy (solar
panels)• Low Impact Design (L.I.D.) site
design • LEED Gold Certification
Project Goals Best Value • Provide an enduring design• A constructible approach • Long lasting materials • Efficient planning • Keep maintenance in mind• Flexible over time
Project Goals A healthy community
Post Covid 19
• Health promotion that addresses COVID-19 space and distance needs
• Investigating service adaptations that may result in changes to program capacity
• Implement risk mitigation by preventing viral transmission through education, technology and mechanical systems
