Carson Long Military Academy is pleased to announce that LTC Mark A. Morgan, Vice President for Finance and Administration, has been named to lead the school. Morgan was first hired by Carson Long in 1994. Over the past 22 years, Morgan has advanced from Assistant Building Officer to Willard Hall Building Officer, Middle School Director, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and now, Interim President. LTC Morgan’s educational background includes graduating from Bastrop High School, Bastrop, LA, in 1985; graduating from Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana, Monroe) with a B.S. in Construction Management in 1989; and graduating from the American Military University (then in Manassas, VA) with an M.A. in Land Warfare in 2002. LTC Morgan is also a US Army Veteran. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps of the U.S. Army in 1989, and then completed five years of active duty and five years of Pennsylvania National Guard duty. He left the service in February 2000. His military service includes being stationed at Red Stone Arsenal, Alabama; Erlangen, Germany; and Fort Lee, Virginia while on active duty. He served as a platoon leader, maintenance shop officer, company executive officer, Battalion S-4, and company commander. Some of LTC Morgan’s decorations include the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Saudi Arabian Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait. LTC Morgan replaces David Pearson, who had served as President & CEO for three years. Other staff changes include the retirement of LTC Rodney Grove after 43 years of service, and the promotion of CPT Robert Reich to serve as Academic Dean. With the start of the new fiscal year on July 1, Carson Long Military Academy, founded in 1836 as the Bloomfield Academy, commences its 181st year of educating our nation’s young people.

At Carson Long, our goal is to help your son reach his goal. We do this through developing character and academic ability.

Carson Long offers many young men an opportunity that is

very rare: a new start with a clean slate.
