FWE has 63 Models

of BanquetCabinets

Typical Silicone “refrigeration”gasket material. Gasket is mated into

aluminum extruded gasket channel that is sandwiched between construction wall.

Replacement is very difficult at best.

Claims corners to be “integral piece”, however gasket sections

are pieced together and caulked.

DOOR GASKETS

CABINET SEAMS

Hi-Temp Door Gasketmated into aluminum extruded

gasket channel that is screwed tointerior cabinet wall door frame.

Replacement is quick and efficient.

All seams turned in/under or concealed, with the exception of top which is

double-layer construction for added durability and strength, locking unit

together and then welded. Clean andstreamlined unibody construction.

NSF does not require silicon caulking to meet standards.

All seams turned in/under or concealed.Top construction is less durable as theengineering of this requires inner andouter bodies to be screwed together

(versus welded together).

To meet NSF, top turned in seams require caulking to meet standards.

DOOR

HANDLES

Door construction: Pocket Style door design. Requires caulk to fill gaps and meet NSF standards.

Allows heat to transfer from inner door liner to exterior door.

Door construction: Box frame with internal 16 gauge reinforcing

behind hinge locations and door latchlocations.Engineered design with heattransfer relief, minimizing heat transferand potential warping caused by heat

from interior door to exterior door.Design helps keep exterior of

unit cool to the touch.

Heavy-duty aluminum extruded contoured push-pull handles are

the default on those products that are standard with handles.

ALL handles have standardback-up stainless steel reinforcing

plates behind wall of cabinet.

16-gauge Tubular Stainless Steeloffered standard on “ETC”, “PTS”, and “UC” models. Available as an

optional accessory on all other models.

18-gauge Tubular Stainless Steeloffered standard on BB models.

Available as an optional accessory on all other models.

HINGES

• Hinges extend 1/4” d x 5/8” w from door

• Door is set back 1-3/8” from bumper

• Top hinge sets in 1/8” d x 1/8” w from door• Bottom hinge sets in 1/8” deep x 1/8”• Door is set back 1-1/2” from bumper

• On “E Series” Banquet Cabinets, hinges are heavy-duty 12 gauge stainless steel with a .320” (21/64”) stainless steel chamfered and hardened pin. Recessed behind bumper for protection as shown above.

• Three (3) complete hinge sets for greater strength and abuseas weight is distributed.Stronger than the competition.

• Hinges are screwed through inner and outer walls, then into 16-gauge back-up tubing reinforcing, welded-in-place.

“Design Engineered”• Hinge set up allows for a

full 270° door swing.

• Hinges are stainless steel pivot hinge with a pin. Recessed behind bumper as shown above.

• Two (2) hinges only, with all weight distributed only on the bottom hinge. Top hinge is a capture hinge bearing no weight load.

• Hinges are screwed through inner and outer walls only, no reinforcing.

Catalog “Pivot Hinge”• Set up allows 215° door swing.

LATCH• Stainless steel “Flush-in-door” latch.

• Recessed 5” x 4” paddle latch.

• 4-Finger, full 3” clear grasp.

• Easy to use latch with full hands.

• “Flush-in-door” paddle latch does not extend or protrude from face of cabinet. Excellent design for transport cabinets or in busy staging areas, as components are less vulnerable to damage.

• Aluminum 2 piece “Slide Action” latch.

• Protruding door handle.

• Limited to 3 fingers, only 1-3/4” grasp.

• Not conducive to use with full hands.

• “Slide Action” latch protrudes 5/16” from face of cabinet, while handle extends 1-7/32” away from cabinet, making them easy to damage loading and come out of adjustment or alignment.

HEAT SYSTEM

ELECTRICHEAT:

• Built-In Heat System

• Wattage proportioned to size of cabinet based on cubic inches of interior unit (1500 watts on E-1200).

• NEMA Plug 5-15P plug standard on 120 volt units.

• Multi-redundant engineered design for maximum performance and limited down time.

• Three (3) independent heat elements dispersed evenly under bottom heat transfer box (red arrows) creating moreeven temperatures within cabinet. Each heating element functions independently of the other.Should a heating element fail, there are still 2 more to heat the cabinet.

Food Safety Temperature ZoneThree (3) heating elements heat the cabinet evenly and provide even heat distribution. Blower motors assure safe cabinet temperatures throughout the cabinet, keeping temperatures in the food safety zone.

• Top mounted blower system has two (2) Hi-Temp blower motors. Should a blower motor fail, there is still anothermotor circulating the heated air. If both would fail, unit still provides adequate performance.

• Drop On Heat Box

• 1500 watts on ALL drop on heat boxes. No proportional sizing (1500 watts on BB-1300).

• NEMA Plug 5-15P plug standard on 120 volt units.

• Single component design with greater down time.

• One (1) heat element. When element burns out, cart is unable to function in “Electric” mode.Heat transfer is single point (red arrow)causing less homogenized or even temperatures.

• Hot air rises naturally. Heating a cabinet from the top downward alreadyprovides a fundamental challenge.Greater air velocity is required. Without a working fan, undirected heat cannot circulate and high limit switch will cut-out. No built-in redundancy performance factors.

Carter-Hoffman cabinet temperature reading is measured right by the heating element. That could lead to mislead cabinet temperatures which may not keep temperatures in the food safety zone.

• No master “ON-OFF” switch. The heat turns off, but the fan continues to run until the unit is unplugged.

• The thermostat capillary and thermometer are mounted to the uninsulated heat box itself and located close to the heating element, which could result in misleading readings.

• Relative settings from #1 thru #7 do not indicate a desired cabinet temperature. Settings from #1 thru #7

are confusing to the operatorsince the same size

heat box is used on all cabinet size capacities.

For example, #5 setting will reflect a different cabinet

temperature on a smaller unit than a larger unit.

HEAT SYSTEM

(Continued)

• Controls are consistent from one unit tothe next. Controls are built-in, recessedprotected to reduce damage during transport. Operator-friendly controls reduce operator error and increase food safety for your operation.

FWE’s Built-In Heat System is operator-friendly!

• An operational range thermometer measures cabinet temperature. The thermostat cycling light tells you when the heat system is on and cabinet is preheated. Master ON/OFF switch shuts down the heating element and blower motors. Power supply light indicates electrical power to cabinet.

• Setting the control number to the proper cabinet temperature differs from one cabinet size to another.Controls are located on cumbersome box weighing 35 lbs and are exposed to damage.

G

• Full range thermostat is adjustable to actual temperature with a temperature scale marked in

ten degree increments (F/C)from 90° to 190°F (30° to 90°C).

• The food safety zone is indicated in red on the temperature scale.

CANNEDHEAT

• 1-Piece back tunnel for even heat distribution

• Stainless steel heat transfer box lined with aluminum for highly conductive heat transfer to assure the elimination or reduced effects of “HOT-SPOTS”caused by canned fuel. Entire back duct baffles help distribute heat within cabinet. (See red arrows.)

Cans are placed front to back.

• 3-Piece segmented back tunnel, utilizing the outer 2 pieces.

• Two (2) separate “canned-fuel” tunnels do not provide as even a heat transfer.(See orange arrows.)

Cans are placed side to side.

FWE Secured DrawersFWE firmly believes our canned drawerdesign is a superior method of operation. The canned heat drawers securely hold the cans during transport. The drawers themselves are secured, and for added protection are secured again by the cabinetdoors when closed. It assures that lit cansof fuel are kept safely inside of the unit at all times.

In addition, there are no breaks in the foodzone, thus adhering to principles of hygiene and food safety. No access for rodents.

Carter-Hoffmann Open DrawersBy the design of the Carter-Hoffmann canned heat drawers, they could open during transport, allowing the lit cans of fuel to dislodge, causing a fire hazard.

If a drawer is missing, damaged or warped, there is a break in the food zone which violatesthe principles of hygiene and food safety.Easy access for rodent infestation.

• FWE has designed engineered 270° door swing and constructed our “E-Series” Banquet Cabinets to have easy access to load and unload plates efficiently, as well as save on valuable floor space. Allowing banquet staging the option of tandem loading provides larger operational flexibility.

• 270° door swing provides multiple advantages to the operator, as well as additional safety.

• Doors do not lay flush against side walls of units.

• Increased stress on hinges as they are “racked” by pushing the door back to their stopping point.

• Increased concern on safety as door protrudes into aisle and can be “closed” on staff while loading by a passer-by.
