our estate Șesuri in all its diversity,
to arouse your curiosity and inspire
you to visit us. Life here, the people,
nature and ultimately our houses

and profound impression on you.

Casa Meceanu
We finished the house in 2014
and it immediately conquered the
hearts of our guests but also of
our eager woodpeckers. We have
opened its doors to our guests and
the woodpeckers had to look for
other playgrounds.
The three hundred year old
house has been restored by us
from scratch and by doing so also
adapted to today‘s requirements.
Thus a beautiful, harmonious
coexistence of traditional crafts-
manship of Maramureș and high
living style has emerged. Like
our other cottages, Casa Meceanu
also offers a beneficial combi-
nation of antiques, paintings of
Romanian artists and modern
living comfort. With 140 square
meters, it offers plenty of space
for a relaxing and cozy stay for
four people.
Casa Meceanu is situated on our
large, park-like grounds, 200
meters above Casa Palaga. From
the house you have a beautiful
view on the abbey ”Schimbarea
la față” which means: changing
the expression of the face,
named after the Orthodox
holiday in August, when nature
changes its appearance.
The house is an ideal starting
point for nature and culture
lovers, wanderers and hunters
to explore the original environ-
ment. Excursions to monasteries
and historic wooden churches
are available as excursion desti-
nations as well as the museums
and market places in Sighet and
the surrounding villages.

On the ground floor you will find a living room,
the kitchen, the hallway and the guest toilet.
The kitchen is fully equipped, from the dish-
washer up to high-quality spices.

Upstairs there is one bedroom, an open sleeping
area, the library and the bathroom.
In the house you will find tourist guides, hiking
maps, a large collection of games and carefully and
affectionately selected books for your children.
Access to Internet is provided via W-LAN.

Your stay at our estate will become

possibility to get to know the great
hospitality of the people, you will
rediscover a nature that is long
lost in other places of the world and
you will be hosted in cozy and
inspiring homes.
The estate in the north-western
Carpathians of Romania is a
regional jewel with an incredibly
impressive flora and fauna. Its
location in a nature reserve at
an altitude of 750 meters offers
splendid views on the surroun-
ding mountains and national
parks. On more than 100 ha
we operate traditional land-
scape conservation, breed
Highland Cattle and offer our
guests from all over the world
exceptionally beautiful holi-
day homes, which are unique
for Maramureş through their
location and facilities. Since
2005, we developed this
property, together with our
Romanian employees and
built it up step by step. Șesuri
is an overall project with a
commitment to sustainability
and respect for creation.
Our cottages on Șesuri estate
above Botiza are spread
generously on a large area
and blend harmoniously with
nature. They complete the
wonderful cultural landscape of
the region by their authenticity.
These original houses have been
turned into very comfortable

cottages that meet the highest
standards. Art, antiquities and
literature create an atmosphere
of quiet and relaxation as well
as inspiration. From here you
can explore the incredibly di-
verse and beautiful nature that
unravels directly from your
doorstep.
The surrounding meadows
and the entire grounds are
mowed gently by hand, annually.
Therefore you can still find a
rare and protected flora with
orchids, wild gladioli, carnivo-
rous plants, cotton grass and
many other plants. Equally
impressive is the fauna with
brown bears, wolves, lynxes,
wild cats, otters, deer, eagles and
a large variety of rare birds such
as hoopoes and orioles. On your
strolls, you may encounter a large
variety of butterflies and beetles.
You can also encounter our
own animals only after a few
steps out. Your children will be
delighted.
It is our special concern that
you get in touch with the
people here, experience their
heartiness. A good start can
be a shopping visit to the
farmers in the neighborhood.
Our cottages are ideal starting
points for walking tours to the
near and far surroundings;
marked paths invite you to do
so. On the back of our Huculs,
an original breed of the
Carpathian mountains, you
may explore the original
mountain landscape, in a very
special way. As an alternative
you may prospect the
surroundings on the saddle
of our mountain bikes. Even
your hunting ambitions can be
indulged here, on our over ten
thousand hectares of hunting
ground.

By car:The property with four holiday
cottages is located in the north-
west of Romania, above Botiza
in the Maramureş County
(Romanian: Judeţ), at a height
of 700 m above sea level. The
Hungarian border is about 150
km away and the Ukraine border
about 30 km. The closest city is
Sighetu Marmației (ca. 38 km).
Nearby - 15 km linear distance,
there are the Rodna and the
Maramureș National Park.
By plane: From Cluj-Napoca airport is
a three hours’ drive (172 km).
Among others, you may fly in
with Lufthansa, WizzAir and
Tarom.
Târgu Mureș airport is also
suitable as it is a three and a half
hours’ drive (210 km) to Botiza.
PricesArrival
When booking, there is a deposit of 50% of the rental price payable in
advance. All taxes and fees, for gas, water, electricity, firewood, linen and
towels, cleaning, as well as consumables such as detergents and cleaners,
toilet paper, spices and many more are included in the rental price.
